TV Tuner Function
HW250STB can be additional TV Tuner to your TV. If your TV does not have TV tuner, it can act as a receiver for over-the-air TV channel. If your TV already has a tuner, you can watch TV using existing tuner, and use this box to record another channel.
Easy Installation
You can connect HW250STB to your TV by either HDMI or Composite or Coaxial port.

I bought this to replace a first generation Tablo. This is a fantastic DVR! Setup was easy. The tuner sensitivity is great, it receives all the local channels. It formatted the external hard drive without any problems. The picture is great, full HD. Itâs simple and easy to program recordings. No sign up, no sign in, no account needed, no nonsense, Itâs perfect!

Great 1080p picture and sound.
Wanted to record some over-the-air football games that we would miss due to other activities. I had been using an old digital to analog tv converter and trying to jerry-rig a recording through an old analog DVD recording unit. Poor quality, small darkish screen and not great sound. Started reading up on Digital TV converters and decided on this unit. Good Choice. You can schedule several shows or games at one time across different TV channels and record them to a USB flash drive or hard disk. I have been using a fast 3.0 flash drive and it works great. Be aware only one program can be recorded per time slot. For example: want to record a 3 hour college football game – that’s all you are going to be able to record until it ends. Also, I haven’t found a way to start a recording say 1:15 – 2:15. Recordings can only be selected by TV time slots that are provided to you by a menu (you can start a recording at any time by pressing a record button, but will manually have to stop it). I marked down the rating due to a defect in the threaded TV input. It apparently had been cross threaded and I had to force the connector on and only part way. It seems to be working OK, but I wasn’t pleased with the lack of QC making sure the connections were OK (the output was fine). For the money, big upgrade from the old days when analog signals went to digital and we all had to buy TV converters.

Works well!
Easy to set up. Works well. Good antenna TV picture, very clear. I like putting an empty flash drive in the slot so I can easily pause a show when I need to and then able to watch and fast forward through the saved program based on the time it has been saved. I have not used the record feature. Remote is easy to use, clear markings.

Nice unit!
I got this so I could record over the air digital TV. It does everything they say. You can stream, record and playback video and photos you have on USB. I connected it to a TV using the HDMI output and connected a DVD Recorder to the AV outputs. Setup is straight forward. AND the price is right!

Unit not usable
The unit was not usable. The remote control had no effect on the converter. The converter could not be set up or properly used without the remote working. I contacted the company, and a company rep. sent me a new remote that cost me $3.51 postage as there was postage due. The replacement remote had no effect on the converter box either. Numerous sets of new batteries were tried. The company rep. offered to send me another remote. It took a week to get the first one he sent. I didn’t think trying another one was worth the effort. I don’t know if the converter box is the problem or the remote controls. So, I gave up and returned the converter box.

*Edited after having it longer* Quite honestly this thing is pretty crappy. The only reason I’m giving it 2 stars is that it seems that there really are no good options out there which is amazing to me. You can’t rewind live TV unless you somehow Know ahead of time that you might need to and put it in “time shift mode” by pausing at the beginning of a show for some time. Then once you start it again you’ll be able to rewind as far back for up to the amount of time that you paused. Thing is it is VERY glitchy if you do this. It freezes, skips and the mouths go out of sync with the voices. It’s the same if you record anything, it freezes, skips and goes out of sync.I bought this specifically to be able to record and rewind OTA live TV. I was hoping to be able to rewind up to 1 hour as long as box was on despite whether or not I am recording. Unless I can’t figure it out, it doesn’t. You seem to only be able to rewind from the moment you “time shift”, meaning that you have to “pause” at the beginning of a show that you might need to rewind and then play again. This puts the dvr into “timeshift” and you can then rewind back to the point where you originally paused. Also it only seems to go back a half hour at most. Future recording can only be done 12 hours into the future. Like I said, works but clunky

I bought 2 think ahead
You know these things don’t last without problems for even a year. Then they stop making them or switch up the remote which is the problem 1/2 the time. So when something quits I’ll have a spare. The price makes 2 attractive. I think these is a relabeled model of my 1st ViewTV 263 box. The form is the same and the remote works but the button function in the remote are relocated and retagged. Hassle to use with the old ViewTV 263.

It works great, I got 23 channels even though I didn’t raise the antenna but it’s just near the window, very easy to use, once you install it it will show you the language selection and then it will automatically search for channels and the channel storage will end automatically, you just need two AAA batteries for the remote control, everything is great and the picture is clear and the sound is clear and the remote works quickly, I’m happy because I got my old TV back again and I’m drinking my coffee and watching TV as if I’m living in the eighties the good old days, thanks to this seller and the manufacturer, I’m very happy I recommend buying it immediately it’s very cheap

Le choix des touches pour faire certaines opérations est un peu bizarre, mais il y a un aide-mémoire au bas de lâécran et on finit par sâhabituer. La réception des chaînes est bonne et lâenregistrement fonctionne bien sur un disque dur et certaines clés USB. Utilisez une clé comme Sandisk Ultra ou Extreme qui ont une vitesse dâécriture plus rapide. Il y a 2 fonctionnalités sur mon autre DVR qui manquent sur celui-là .1. Sur lâautre DVR, il est plus facile de sauter les commerciaux, car il y a une touche avance-1-minute et une touche recule-15-secondes. Ces 2 touches rendent le saut très simple. Sur le Mediasonic, il faut appuyer plusieurs fois sur avance rapide, surveiller, puis stop, puis marche arrière etc. Il est plutôt difficile de bien voir où on en est. 2. Sur lâautre DVR, l âavance rapide monte à 300X contre 32X sur le Mediasonic, ce qui est ennuyeux lorsquâon a une heure ou deux à sauter.

Fonctionne mieux que mon model précédent Leelbox qui est défectueux après 4 ans et qui avait des problèmes avec les heures de programmation et des problèmes de communication de la télécommande avec l’appareil tandis que celui ci fonctionne bien peut importe l’heure programmé et la télécommande de plus grand format communique beaucoup mieux avec l’appareil ce qui est merveilleux. C’est certain que je recommande en espérant qu’il fonctionne bien pour longtemps
