Everything will be connected. This is one of the rules that will govern the future. And contrary to popular belief, the impact of Wearable Technology will be much greater than a smartwatch or a fitness tracker. Connecting everything will dramatically reshape our world in ways we can barely imagine.
The world of wearables is rapidly growing and steadily pushing for new innovative products. If these devices did not provide the potential of an immense value at a low cost, there wouldn’t be discussions about developing solutions based on these technologies in the first place. Further, an extremely hot topic of conversation nowadays is “the Metaverse”, obviously, without Wearable Technology to bridge between the physical and virtual worlds, the Metaverse will be nothing but an unattainable fantasy.
Having worked in this field for almost 14 years in both academic and business capacities, I feel the need to compile a complete resource that tackles all aspects of this vital technology. Also, due to the fast-paced technological advancement in this area, I felt that it’s time to release a second edition, with updated material and a chapter dedicated to discuss the Metaverse.
The aim of this book, as the title suggests, is to provide a comprehensive guide to various components and applications of Wearable Technology, in addition to its social, and psychological impacts. Moreover, privacy, security, and health concerns will also be covered in this book.
The intended audience of this book includes, but not limited to, scientists in the Research and Development field, university professors, practicing technologists, in addition to all the enthusiasts interested in this fascinating technology. Moreover, the book serves as an extensive resource for both undergraduate and graduate students working on topics related to Wearable Technology and the Metaverse.

Best book I could find on the topic
Unlike many technical books which have lots of mathematical jargon and no direct explanations , this book is written very well and everything has been laid out in simple terms. You donât need a strong technical background to enjoy this book as it provides detailed explanations with good visuals. The author seems to have a strong background in both technology and writing. The topics include a background overview, applications, components, architectures, product development, security/privacy issues as well as health and psychological concerns for wearable devices and includes an entire chapter dedicated to explaining what the metaverse is and how it fits within the context of wearable devices.I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in the topic, who does not necessarily have the technical background; although I will say students in the fields of science, engineering, and technology would enjoy this book the most.

Excellent book
This book is very informative and is a great source of information. The book is well written to the extent that I am confident enough to state that any individual interested in learning about the meta verse will be able to develop an understanding of the topics discussed by reading this book. The information Dr. Raad shared is complex and highly detailed, yet I found myself wanting to read the next chapter. I highly recommend this book and will be utilizing it as a source of reference for both my scholarly research and as a recommendation for my students.
