Perfect, easy to use Metronome
This is so simple to use. No electronics, no tiny buttons, just wind it up, set and release the pendulum, and away you go! Nice and loud, too! Easy to hear over a guitar, or, in my case, a dulcimer.

Great success. This is my 3rd Metronome purchase
Great success. This is my 3rd Metronome purchase, not because I’m accomplished musician but because I didn’t realize how much I’d need the first one, put it away and wasn’t able to locate it for awhile. My second was horribly disappointing. It was approx the same price as this one. I purchased it at the music store. It was the same style (wind-up rather than digital) but the workings, and particularly the winding stem, was a chrome coated plastic, and so weak that when I attempted to attach the winder to begin use I wasn’t able to line it up properly, tearing the tip of winder off and making it unusable. What a disaster! I didn’t have any of those problems with this well designed and well constructed metronome. I opened the box, noted the unusual packing which protected the internal working. I was able to get it in to use immediately and have enjoyed it’s well designed appearance. I thought I wanted a tradition style with a wood exterior. This is so well designed you wouldn’t know it wasn’t wood it you weren’t touching it. It looks great weather in use or not while sitting in my music area, and I kept the extra packaging to insure that if I move I will have a chance of getting it to my next home safely. Seems to be reliable in timing and in all other ways I’m happy with this purchase. Thank you.

Good quality and funcitonal
I bought this to replace my old one that I gave to my granddaughter. This one has some nice features. It was packed well, although the directions didn’t mention anything about removing the Styrofoam inside the striker, but I figured that out in a hurry. It has a nice woodgrain finish, but it is not wood, but that doesn’t really matter. It works fine for me. I do like the chime that sound on whatever beat you choose to set it on so that you can hear the downbeat of the music as you are playing. The inside box was damaged when it was delivered but the metronome was fine. I am happy with this purchase.

You need this
As a professional musician spanning back into the 1990âs I was a self taught guitarist; that absorbed everything practicing up to 18 hours a day. The one thing in my favor was my internal metronome has always been very good. I decided to go back to college and they require a mechanical metronome; not digital. Where this metronome shines is not only do you hear it (if you want), and itâs adjustable based on the time signature. You also visualize it as the rod and weight obviously move back and forth. Iâm going for my Masters degree in the arts, and I cannot stress enough to always play to a mechanical metronome. Iâve adjusted this Tempi metronome from way faster than anyone can play to so slow youâre going to cover any and all tempoâs you can possibly need. Remember you can always sub divide the tempo as well, thatâs where the ease of adjusting the unit shines. Itâs more than loud enough to be heard at any âpracticeâ level. You can as Iâve said earlier adjust the tempo just by sliding the weight up or, down. The bell is a nice feature as it shows you the first beat or, heard it actually. You can change when the first beat is at with a simple push/pull slider on the right side of the unit, the mechanical winder is right there as well, before use always crank it up. Iâve let it run for hours without needing to rewind. My only complaint and Iâm sure if I spent double the money I could get this unit made of real wood. Iâm probably weird, but Iâd love to see a wooden body over plastic made to look like mahogany. Overall though despite my only complaint about real wood versus plastic I still give it 5 stars and totally recommend it without reservation. Happy playing in time everyone !

Does the job
Works as intended. Acceptable looks for a faux plastic-wood veneer. I enjoy physical metronomes over an app. Overall good value.

A Well Designed and Manufactured Metronome; Mechanically Sound!!
The TEMPI Metronome is very well designed and constructed. Mechanically I have found it to work flawlessly and is a great assist to the CADENCE / TEMPO so important in reading and playing the music score. I would recommend this product for the aspiring musician who needs guidance in playing an instrument in the timing sequence specified. The speed and rhythm can be pre set – or quickly adjusted if the musician needs to slow or increase the pace. The case of the TEMPI is wood grained plastic rather than wood. Most musicians would prefer the casing to be thin hardwood such as walnut, mahogany or cherry but the purchase price would probably double putting the cost out of reach for many customers. Fortunately TEMPI has great working relationships with the overseas manufacturer and is marketing a high quality product.

Very nice metronome. Tick is a little loud, but works well and is attractive despite being plastic.
It’s a very nice metronome. The case, although plastic, is fairly attractive and blends well with the furniture. My only “complaint”, and it’s not truly a “fault” of the product, is that the beat noise or click/tick it makes can be a bit annoying and loud. Yet at the same time, I don’t want to distract or deduct from the rating for a function of the product — which it is supposed to do and does properly. So, this is just more a case of buyer beware. Also know that there are a number of metronome apps which allow a person quite a bit of flexibility. We had used them, but the do run our phones down. They may be able to be downloaded to a laptop if no desktop computer is near the planing area, but that’s a bit of a hassle and just one more thing to prepare or set up before playing. It’s just easier to have a good ol’ fashioned metronome.

Nice. I bought this as I can still remember that distinctive tick-tock sound when I attended childhood piano lessons. This is a retro copy in plastic. I chose black as I didnât think that wood effects would look so good. The sound is remarkably good and the visual clues given by the swinging pendulum are why it is this shape. A good buy and hoping it serves me well for a good number of years. If you want that truly authentic sound of a wooden box this is the nearest thing you will get at a quarter of the price.
