Great introduction for kids on how an amazing business got started
This is a really fun read for kids interested in how the Disney company got to where it is today. Kids can just read the main story, but if they want to dive deeper, there are “fun facts” in boxes scattered throughout. In addition, the author intersperses business concepts throughout in separate callouts. Elementary readers may not care about what “going public” is or what a CEO does, but for more involved readers, they can learn a lot about business as they go along. Add a bunch of great drawings throughout, and it’s both a fun and educational read for kids. It’s important to note this is NOT a Disney World guide or a biography of Walt Disney the man. Instead, it’s the story of the Disney company (starting, of course, with Walt, but then moving throughout the entire history of the company).Overall highly recommended for kids 8-12.

Fun to Read, Inspiring, Full of Information
I just bought both “From An Idea To” books for my son. The stories are so compelling, he hasn’t wanted to put them down. Also, the author breaks down business terms and concepts really well for children. She’s able to explain the stock market, net profits, endorsement deals etc. in such a way that a 10 year old can understand.I’m thrilled about this new series. Keep them coming!

Business talk meets a kids book…
It is a different concept for sure. The topics covered are both business and biographical but with a kid twist. We all enjoyed learning more about Walt Disney and his hard work to make the company become what it has become. There were some fun stories that related to the kids and also some good lessons for the takeaway. It was a bit odd that there were such deep topics in a book that looks so childish. We aren’t overly sure who would get the most out of this book. We are Disney family, so it was a good fit. I am not so sure that families that don’t love Disney would get as much out of it as we did. Give this a go as a transition from kids to big kids book if you are Disney family, if not I would suggest looking elsewhere.
