One of the craziest stories in rock music history.
This rock festival almost didn’t happen because ticket sales were slow. As a desperate last minute move, the producers of this festival had the audacity to ask John Lennon to come and play. This was right about the time John informed his three band-mates he had left the Beatles. (It was remarkable that the other three kept John’s departure a secret for over six months.) Amazingly, John said yes and brought Eric Clapton with him. Ticket sales took off like a rocket. D. A. Pennebaker was already a master lens-man at filming rock concerts and brought his crew to Toronto to document how everything here was being thrown together at the last moment and the performances themselves. In spite of everything, the festival actually happened as planned. This DVD is the story of what happened. You will see how this became one of the wildest story in the history of rock music.

Great Story! Needed More Live Music
I loved it because I didn’t know the story behind this festival. No complete songs at all but as a doc I give it 5 stars! I highly recommend for your collection.

    Interesting and Informative…but?
While I liked hearing and seeing the behind the scenes aspect of how the concert came together, I was expecting as much of a full show as possible. I thought this would include several full songs by each artist.
