Good introductory book on information security
As mentioned in my review title, this is a good introductory book on information security. I would like to stress the “introductory” part since anyone who is already in the field or otherwise highly technical should probably avoid this book. Otherwise, for anyone just starting out in information/cyber security or otherwise curious, this will be a nice easy intro into an interesting subject.

    An excellent guidebook
I particularly liked:- the Application Security chapter, which covers a lot of common coding problems and how to avoid them- the Assessing Security chapter, and how it discusses the pros and cons of many ways to scan for vulnerabilitiesOverall, this is a thorough overview for many different areas within security. The author explains “what” and more importantly “why”, then illustrates each concept with concrete, realistic examples. Definitely a great addition to any security engineer’s library, but especially for those newer to the field.
