Great value for the price
My son loves music and has long wanted to set up a small and simple home studio to play with his piano. I bought this audio interface, and it was exactly what we needed to bring this project to life. Now, he can record audio from the microphone and piano and test some compositions. I highly recommend it.

Initial Impressions
3/16/23?I seem to be the first paying reviewer? (In the US? Sorry, other guy.)Initial Impressions, from my desk at work:Metal case, seems solid enough. I can dink the top surface and it rings like a chime, a bit. May not adversely affect anything (3/22: It doesn’t), but would prefer it to not want to ‘vibrate’. I may stuff a tiny piece of pad under an edge. The item has no model number except “USB AUDIO INTERFACE”. Their first foray into this area? (Everything else in the store seems to be Karaoke related.)There are no instructions. There is simply a chart describing the various surface features.I would plug in power first (USB C male), and then the USB B-male (computer connection.)Plugged it in. Lights up. USB control said it did not recognize the device in a quick flash that disappeared, but it does show up as a sound source (Interface mic port) and sound target (Interface Headphone jack) – with nothing plugged in. A source selector pull-down did not show me two separate channels, that I noticed. Will play with it more when I’m home. (Maybe something has to be plugged into the second port to see two channels?)Does the (back) headphone out port output directly from the box? (Without the computer?) or is it strictly an addressable computer-out sound port? I’ll let you know…Came USPS, was packaged well enough, came on time. Will update this…3/22/2023Played with this some more, after it came in last week, and again on Saturday. It works well enough. No on/off button. One USB port (USB C) is a power cable. (The USB-B port is data only. Couldn’t do it all through one cable?) Used the power button on the port of my USB hub to turn off the power. (I have a powered hub with individual power buttons for each port.) That worked. It has a good capacitor. The LED stayed on a minute after power was cut. The other USB cable (data) was fed directly to my computer, so I did not test whether this same trick would cut/reconnect the data connection on that (data) cable. If not, you should unplug/re-plug this cable, after power is applied. Odd note: I could swear, the first time I played with it, that I saw two inputs – HD USB AUDIO and just USB AUDIO – as input selections. It did not let me select both at once (one each on two tracks.) The second use, I saw only the HD USB AUDIO. (Was trying to show that to someone, didn’t happen the second time. Sanity self-questioned…) Oops… getting ahead…Plugged a mic and a bass into the two inputs. I ran Audacity, and added a new track. I selected “HD USB AUDIO” as the source. Audacity defaulted to a stereo track. I could (and did) select “Split into two tracks”, so I had a separate mono track for each input. Set recording specs to 48/192. Recorded a sample, played it back. Sounded like the noise I recorded. Both tracks. Very straight-forward, mostly. I did not save/examine/test the track for specs. So, this is basically a second sound card, connected by USB to your computer, adding some inputs and outputs. When you record from this source/sound card, if you want to include/mix audio from other sources on your computer into your recording/output (stuff played through the first sound-card and controlled through VOLUME MIXER), you do this via the “loop-thru” knob. This is good for recording a video game and adding commentary for your You-Tube channel videos, making your own ‘Mystery Science Theater 3000’ recordings, or for recording a conference call, as examples. I did not play with this feature yet. The 1/8th inch mini jack on the back is just another select-able computer audio output device. When I plugged this ‘sound card’ in, computer audio output was switched from the computer speaker jack my computer speakers are plugged into, to this new headphone jack. You’ll have to switch this back to hear your speakers after. (Beware of feedback with speakers and mic active?) To monitor this device’s final sound output, before it hits the computer and gets recorded, you either need to use the 1/4 stereo headphone jack on the front (adapter to 1/8th inch provided in box), or the two 1/4″ mono outputs on the back.If you are looking at portable/small pro-level recording gear, there’s a chance you may already know what you are doing, and how all this works. And this will work just fine your you. If you are just starting, trust me, this is easy enough to use. 5 stars for the end result, only 4 for basically no instructions. Worth the buy, at this price-point. Will attach a pic of the sheet when I get there…

Poor Quality
I really wanted to like this. It had decent reviews for the price point. I just couldn’t get quality sound out of it.1. The adapter for the headphones goes in and out. I was constantly wiggling it to make it work and I have new Skull Candy headphones. It was definately the interface adapter system.2. There was no real way to get good sound from my dynamic Telefunkin mic. I get great sound at shows and practice but I am trying to do some recording at home and the quality is awful. The only way to really hear the mic is to have everything so loud that the sound is horrible.3. While this is compatible with windows and mac os as plug and play, it will not work with Google os. I tried that thinking maybe it might sound better on my Samsung Chromebook. It didn’t.I really can’t recommend this for voice, maybe its better without the dynamic mic or for instruments. Maybe podcasts. I bought it to record vocals though and it failed miserably.

As a musician and content creator, finding the right tools to capture pristine audio is paramount. The RHM USB Audio Interface has not only met but exceeded my expectations in every aspect. From its sleek design to its outstanding performance, this interface has become an indispensable part of my setup.First and foremost, the sound quality delivered by this device is exceptional. Whether I’m recording vocals, instruments, or podcast interviews, the RHM interface consistently produces clear, professional-grade audio with minimal noise interference. The preamps are transparent and deliver a true representation of the source, allowing me to capture every nuance of my recordings accurately. The versatility of the RHM interface is another standout feature. With multiple inputs and outputs, I can easily connect microphones, instruments, and studio monitors simultaneously, making it incredibly convenient for multi-track recording or live monitoring. The inclusion of phantom power also expands the range of compatible microphones, giving me the flexibility to use a variety of condenser mics without any issues.

Picks up radio station
So I had to return it because it picks up radio station. Not because of the mic or cable or anything – I purchased another one (Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 3rd Gen) and works just fine. The radio did eventually go away as I continued to try throughout the night but likely it is because the driver finally turned off his truck after a couple of hours (someone sits in his/her truck way too long) I mean it is a 50/50 gamble if there’s someone using radio that could interfere with it.
