Solid streamer and pre-amp with a great DAC, especially for the $$
Plugged it in, connected eARC cable and it worked right out of the box without needing to set up anything. It auto switches to/from eARC so using with a modern TV is a breeze. It sounds great. Installing the app (android/apple) allows for all sorts of settings and direct streaming sources. Very easy to use. Hands-down the best value in audio gear. The Swiss army knife of DACs
This is an incredibly full featured streaming DAC for the money! Add an amplifier and speakers and you have got yourself some really good sound for not much money. Look at YouTube for all of the video reviews. Works flawlessly with Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect and many other streaming services.Has a great app, a graphic EQ, parametic EQ, bass management and room correction for your room’s particular acoustic properties. It even has a subwoofer out RCA port. I am running my WiiM Ultra on a little bedroom system consisting of two Fosi Za3 amps, one for each channel in mono mode and connected to a Samsung TV with HDMI ARC.I left out that it has a remote control! I do not know how they are selling this so cheap, but they are so there’s that!

Incredible Value
Everything I had hoped it would be and more! As you can see from my pic, my entire system consists of nothing more than this unit and a power amp and the sound is incredible.Hooking it up is dead simple and it can be connected to pretty much whatever you have (phono, HDMI-in, sub, etc).The device looks impressive and is just the right size – made of high quality materials and built well.But at the end of the day I think you buy this unit because you want it to sound good – and it does! SO many people are going to be replacing their DAC, Preamp and Streamer with the single unit and I honestly canât imagine them missing ANY of them. This thing is truly remarkable.

Ridiculous Value Streamer
First and foremost, this thing is beautiful, high quality and most importantly, their app is amazing. Sound quality on this thing was amazing and it offers so many features. I personally use it as a dedicated streamer feeding to an external dac via usb. However, I had an issue where the sound quality was subpar compared to my laptop using the usb output which I thought was weird, so I factory reset the streamer which fixes the problem in case anyone else also has this problem. As of 09/2024, no complaints, very user friendly and high recommended

Know what this is and is not.
I bought this piece, reviewed it on my website and YT. I raved about it for a few reasons.1. Its price is very good for what it offers. Most all in ones within the audio world are priced into the thousands, with some in the 20k+ range. Things that do the same thing (though much better build and refinement and sound) as the Ultra. At $300 it’s a steal for those who do not want to spend thousands. For those who are not ultra picky audiophiles.2. It’s cheap in build. My COAX jack pushed in after changing cables three times. This is not some tank like build of the big brands, and feels hollow. Even so, when set up correctly it sounds 80% as good as those big mega brands in what it does (stream/DAC).3. The streamer here is great and handles all formats easily. The screen is icing on the cake at this price level.4. As a preamp it is good but nothing close to dedicated audio preamps that sell for thousands.5. As a DAC it competes with $300 DAC’s easily. It’s a bit warm,. full, and with gentle details vs analytical details.6. Easy set up. Turn it on, hook to ethernet or wifi, follow instructions and away you go. If you want to use an amp with it, it will work with ANY amp that has RCA inputs. Tale the pre out into the amp and you are all set.This is a piece meant to be added to an integrated amp or power amp. It’s not meant to work with the Wii amp as that would be doubling up on everything. I tested it with lower cost amps and audiophile amps up top $11k.Worked fantastic, sounded good and looks great. I had no bugs in operation. Is it as good as my $5200 streamer and $5k DAC? No way! But in al honesty, in regards to sound, it’s 80% there.Diminishing Returns is a thing in audio. As we spend more we gain small improvements or changes, and then are all just changes. This Ultra is PERFECT for someone starting to get into streaming with a modest low to mid fi system. I know of nothing better.

Loaded with features
I replaced a Bluesound Node with this jewel. So far it has outperformed the Node in every aspect at a much lower price point. The display is great. Showing album art, a VU meter, spectrum analyzer and more.Plenty of inputs for all of your sources. Both analog and digital outputs. You can either run it directly to your amplifier or into your DAC.The unit sounds great without the addition of an outboard DAC but I prefer using one to really bring out the details in my music.I replaced the Bluesound Node because of instability, dropping the internet regularly. So far, about a week, this unit hasn’t had any issues with stability, never buffering or dropping the internet.If you are looking for a premium streamer but don’t want to spend thousands of dollars you’ve found it.I’ve been into stereos since the 80s and I am absolutely in love with the WiiM Ultra.

Best Wiim Yet!
Easy set up, great features, intuitive to use, and looks supurb.I am using this with a Parasound Zamp. The trigger output from the Wiim Ultra works great with the Zamp. Just needed to convert from 3.5mm to 2.5mm plug. So, when I power up the Wiim, the amp comes to life. Power down, the amp shuts off.Not using the phono preamp built in.Room Correction works fine to my taste. Gave my speakers some extra life.Sub out and the subwoofer controls are handy.Overall, a great product.The internal DAC sounds fine with my CD player.

I have this as a desk set-up paired with Kanto Tuk powered speakers. No issues with Spotify or Tidal. Frequent software and firmware updates so it’s well supported. Love the album art and the preset EQ settings. (Rock, Pop, Jazz, etc)Great value for the money and glad I made the purchase! I highly recommend!

In einer Pressemitteilung war jedoch anfangs davon die Rede – im Forum hat man dazu Stellung bezogen.Allerdings glaube ich nicht wirklich daran, dass es angeblich die Hardware nicht können soll, wie dort geschrieben.(vielleicht ändert sich das ja noch)Für mich war AirPlay nie von Bedeutung, von daher ist mir dieses Feature egal.Update:Versuchshalber habe ich eine 2,5″ USB HDD direkt an den USB A Port angeschlossen (ohne weitere Stromversorgung) und der Ultra hat deutlich mehr als 10000 Titel indexiert. (alle die drauf sind)Einige Player haben hier ab 1000 oder teilweise sogar darunter Probleme oder sogar Begrenzungen – nicht so der Wiim Ultra.Daher werde ich in naher Zukunft mal versuchen meine komplette Musik-Bibliothek einzuscannen. Das sind dann über 80000 Lieder.——Für mich persönlich ist der Wiim Ultra Pre-Amp-Streamer perfekt – zumal zu diesem Preis.

Ogólnie jestem zadowolony z jakoÅci wykonania oraz dźwiÄku jak na cenÄ. DziaÅaÅ Åwietnie przez kilka dni ale po ostatnich uaktualnieniach niestety nie wspóÅpracuje pÅynnie ze Spotify (subskrypcja). Przerywa poÅÄ czenie a czasami puszcza tylko fragment utworu. Automatyczne wÅÄ czanie urzÄ dzeÅ podÅÄ czonych przez ÅwiatÅowód (TOSLINK) też przestaÅo bezproblemowo dziaÅaÄ jak na poczÄ tku. Przy przeskoku z niższej rozdzielczoÅci utworu na 24/192 przez to poÅÄ czenie zaczyna nagle ostro krzaczyÄ w gÅoÅniku i wyÅÄ cza podÅÄ czone urzÄ dzenie. Tylko ponowne przeskoczenie przez wejÅcia na urzÄ dzeniu sprawia że dźwiÄk dziaÅa, do nastÄpnego takiego razu. Podejrzewam że to przez update którego niestety nie można cofnÄ Ä – na poczÄ tku nie byÅo z tym problemów. Przez wyjÅcie AUX dziaÅa też normalnie. Wbudowany EQ poprawia bardzo dźwiÄk – w moim przypadku acoustic oraz lekko zindywidualizowana korekcja pokoju dajÄ najlepszy efekt ale wiadomo to kwestia sÅuchu i komponentów. Pilot robi doÅÄ budżetowe wrażenie ale i tak go nie używam bo wszystko można ustawiÄ przez aplikacjÄ w telefonie która dziaÅa â¦ok choÄ mogÅaby lepiej i przed aktualizacjami też mam wrażenie, że byÅo lepiej. Ale to osobny element. Wbudowany ekran jest kiepskiej rozdzielczoÅci into taki bajer, trochÄ bez sensu bo jest on zbyt maÅy by coÅ na nim widzieÄ z pozycji sÅuchania i na telefonie jest wszystko to samo i tak. WolaÅbym lepszy DAC i brak ekranu lub coÅ prostszego. Kolejny minus to wejÅcie sÅuchawkowe. Szkoda że nie jest ono 4.4mm tylko 3.5mm ponieważ ciÄżko o przejÅciówkÄ. Tu na Amazon jest chyba tylko jedna i nawet nie wiem czy dobra bo nie kupowaÅem.
