With laptops no longer having cd-rom drives, this thing is awesome. Gives you more usb ports, USB type C for flash drives or charging your phones, and and SD card slot if your laptop does not have one.

Not Plug and Play with Windows 11
I ended up returning this item because I couldn’t get it to play. There were no instructions. After returning it and trying another one from HP, and having the same issue, I did some research. Even though the HP version said it was compatible with Windows 11, I learned that Windows 10 and 11 didn’t pay for DVD rights or some such thing and these devices won’t play with Windows media. You have to download a 3rd party application, which I did, and now the HP product works. This one might have worked with a 3rd party app, but I don’t know, so I’m giving it the benefit of the doubt and giving it 4 stars.

Did a couple of burns and a few rips with no issues. I wish the cord was a little bit longer but it does the job. I made a few boot utilities for USB and CD or dvd so the extra ports help to copy sd memory card also.
