    Highly recommend. Best Self Care book available, in my professional opinion as an MSW.
    I highly recommend this book for everyone looking to improve your life in some way. It had a great comprehensive view of self care the encompasses your entire life.I would also recommend buying “A Year of Self Care” to go along with it. That way you can work on each section in this book, The Self Care Prescription, but also have something else very specific to focus on each day (and even though they are for each day, feel free to take as long as you need with these tasks – some take 5 minutes and some may take a week to complete).The Self Care Prescription book, I find reading and re- reading the chapter you are working on helps. Also make sure to pick out a cool notebook or journal to go with it. You will fly through the first chapter, but the chapter where you actually start working on self-care in a specific area will take much longer, lots of thought, conversations, etc and lots of reading and re-reading. I find that I need to think about the chapter and my life and integrate that first. Next, I choose the area that I think I need to work on first to build a foundation for the rest of what is in the chapter. I highly recommend to anyone, but especially social workers, therapists, and those trying to improve your life (you can do this without a professional helping you). I can also see professionals using areas of this book with clients.This is the best self care book I found out there. It is defined different than it is normally defined but really is the base for creating a good life that you will really enjoy, by using self care. You have to take care of yourself before you can help others (family, friends, work, children, etc). That is true for everyone in this world.

    EXCELLENT RESOURCE…
    The book is excellent! She did her homework. A resource that is long overdue very thoroughly done. She has some awesome resources given in detail many are free. I wished I had this book 30 years ago when this material or information was hush hush! But it’s never too late to get the benefits from her book.I plan to share with others I know who could use a prescription for self care ….Thank you Robyn for taking the time and putting in the effort of completing this task!

    Great, easy-to-read, guide on creating happiness in your life
    In The Self-Care Prescription, Dr. Robyn Gobin succeeds in writing a book that is grounded in evidence-based psychological techniques while simultaneously being easy to read and do-able. What I particularly enjoyed in reading the book is that I felt that I could “come as I am.” I could engage with the book at whatever level felt comfortable to me: from light-reading, to note-taking, to doing the activities she suggests. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a jump start to their life in any domain: work, spirituality, social/relationships, self-esteem, etc.

    I really needed this book on selfcare. There is more to delicate than just meeting your physical needs. It can be mental as well as emotional as well as spiritual needs. There are various ways to meet those needs. Sometimes for example, if someone asks us to do something g that we do not want to do we can say no.
    This book gets a very high rating because it is easy to understand, it is relatable as well. Over the course of the rest of my life I will use this book as a reference.

    Dr. Robyn Gobin has done it again! The Self-Care Prescription Journal is a wonderful follow-up to her book, The Self-Care Prescription. I have both and they complement one another so well. What I love most about the journal are the wonderful self-care reminders and thought-provoking writing prompts. Packed with useful pragmatic suggestions and clear explanations, really inspiring. Have also bought this book as a gift for others. Treat yourself, you’re worth it!
