Fall in love with the Christmas romance of the year, full of romance and second chances!

Lottie Grant loves the festive season so much that she works at the incredibly successful Christmas shop, Christmas Crackers, in her pretty Scottish home town of Craig Brae. But when the shop is sold, her world is turned upside down, leaving her wondering what she will do next.

Just as she’s about to give up hope on finding a new dream job, an offer comes that she can’t refuse, managing a set of luxury wooden cabins… and opening just in time for Christmas!

As she gets to work decorating the cabins, and hanging lights on the fir trees, Lottie can’t believe her luck. That is until the arrival of Blake Dempster, a moody but handsome hiking expert, who threatens to bring down her festive joy. But never one to shy away from a challenge, Lottie is determined to change Blake’s mind about all things festive.

And as the snow falls and the fairy lights sparkle, will work-obsessed Lottie and frozen-hearted Blake make their Christmas wishes come true?

Will you fall in love with the new festive romance from Julie Shackman?

    Good
Nice characters and background that proves everything can be topsy turvy in life, but can also help find some fascinating new ways to live. Still a story, but you can hope! You can see those cabins and how they could hold many more stories with other people throughout the year.

    Sweet Christmas story
I liked that the women all had careers or jobs that were fulfilling. It wasn’t a matter of the right man fixing everything. I liked that he noticed she’d grown during their time together.

    Christmas Magic
Such a sweet story about what is possible when you are willing to step outside of your comfort zone and risk letting your guard down. Of course, Christmas Magic makes all things possible.

    Beautiful background
I have read four.books in this series, a d the one.recurring theme is a gay couple. To each his own, but I do not see that this is relevant to the story, nor was it necessary. I would guess that the remaining books will have the same.

    very good!
I like Julie Shackman. She writes very well. Her stories are clean, not full of sex or innuendos. I recommend it for a short, light read.

    Fantastic book
The Highland Lodge Getaway was a fantastic read, very easy and captivating. Julie Shackman has some great character development where you’re left wondering about certain things that get revealed later in creative ways. I love Lottie’s Christmas spirit despite the hard times that have fallen upon her. She continues to push forward doing the best she can, despite grumpy Grinch like Blake appearing and arguing over her ideas.I love a good Christmas book in the summer and the descriptions of the holiday cabins got me wanting to cozy down in a cabin in the woods for a weekend with some hot chocolate, a blanket and some books. I would love to travel to Scotland and see these cabins if they were real. I love how she got the community involved and you can feel the small town vibes from the writing. The only issue I had with this story was that a couple of the characters just kind of disappeared for a bit and I understand as background characters they aren’t there, but I would have loved to see Lottie go to her mom about a few things that happened in the story. She also definitely took a chance driving into the woods to meet people who seemed to know a lot about her when she did not know them. Lucky for her it all worked out.I would like to thank HarperCollins UK, NetGalley, and Julie Shackman for this arc copy.

    Charming
A charming Christmas story with likable characters. Warm but still with a nice plot line. Grab a hot chocolate, cookies and sit by the fireplace and read a sweet romantic Christmas story.

Loved the story although it had more holes than a colander in places, loved the characters, and the descriptions of the area, and at least there was some romance in this book , loved the epilogue. 💮💮💮💮

I loved everything about this book. The gorgeous setting, the wonderful characters and the story itself were all just amazing. A true tale about the magic of Christmas! There were some more serious moments about the different kinds of loss of loved ones and the terrible grief and anger that comes with that. The author covered those with such care and sensitivity. But she also showed how things can turn out perfectly in the end and covered the journey to that place wonderfully well. The snow, the twinkling lights and the excitement in the book all made me look forward to Christmas even more! Finally, as I was reading the book, I kept thinking how wonderful it would look on screen. It really would make a truly magical Christmas film!
