I am utterly speechless
This is about a CEO of a tech firm that is accused of murdering his intern Layla that he had an affair with up to her death although he is married. We get flash backs between past and present time with point of views from the police and Vince, we get a pov from Layla and Nicole.Review: I’m utterly speechless. This book had me guessing the whole time. I couldn’t believe all the lies and the deceiving. There was nothing predictable. I swore I figured out a couple of things but turns out I was so wrong. My heart ached for Nicole in all this. She was broken. You could feel it. You could sense it. I felt so bad for her and I honestly couldn’t blame her for all she did. I was shocked though she did what she did to Layla. Wasn’t expecting that. Vince. Boy, he was somethin. Why couldn’t he have come clean to begin with. Pure insanity. I was literally shaking my head so many times. Like c’mon. The detective in charge was I think too eager to close a case, I think if she truly looked hard enough and did some more digging, I think she would have figured out the real truth sooner. Conclusion: This book was so so good. A really good psychological thriller. I do recommend reading by

Itâs ok.
Honestly, I donât understand the slew of 5-star reviews, but to each their own, I suppose. Itâs difficult to write a powerful novel in first person, but this novelist commits the sin of alternating chapters following different characters in the story, and every one of them is told in first person. It doesnât work stylistically, and the writing isnât strong enough to overcome it. I do like the jumping between the characters to tell the story, but the first person perspective ruins it. Plus, if we are really in the charactersâ heads, weâd know what they know. Instead, there is a lot of, ââ¦if only she knew the truth!â Well, itâs fine to withhold information in a third person perspective, but in first person it comes across as disingenuous. Either weâre hearing the characterâs direct thoughts or not. The dialogue is fine, if uninspired. A bit heavy on characters spitting out all the details needed for the plot to progress though. âNeed this to happen to continue the story? Ok, weâll have this person tell it all right now.â I bet cops would love all their interrogations to go this smoothly. In the end, I didnât hate it, but I definitely didnât love it. Disappointed it didnât live up to the 5-star hype.

Great Plot!
This was an excellent read more than a great listen. I loved the authorâs plot idea and character development. I didnât want to stop reading/listening. I usually buy BOTH the Kindle and Audible editions of a book so I can listen in the car or when doing housework but can also read when Iâm relaxing on the couch or by a pool in summer. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE to read but, since discovering Audible, I thoroughly enjoy listening in the car. Unfortunately, in my opinion, the voices used of the bookâs characters didnât match their characters as depicted. The voice for Nicole was appropriate, but all the others struck me as weird and overdone. However, I so enjoyed the storyline that I was able to get through the Audible version. In reading the book, I was able to imagine the charactersâ voices as I perceived them. This is the first time Iâve listened to an Audible book where the voices didnât seem to reflect the characters.

A really good read
Wow! Vince and Nicole! What a story. The perfect couple. So very much in love. Struggling with IVF, Vince slips. He has an affair. Girl is murdered. She was not what she seemed. Vince is accused of and charged. I had two other suspects in mind. One of them is the perp! A real page turner! Excellent read!

A domestic suspense that had the right elements to attract this reviewer!
A domestic suspense that had the right elements to attract this reviewer! We all know the story. A man cheats. The woman he was having an affair with is found murdered. The husband becomes the main suspect.Did he do it?Vince Taylor had everything. He is the CEO of Kitztech, a successful tech company responsible for famous apps. He is married to his beautiful and lovely wife, Nicole. Then a new intern, Layla begins working for his company. He becomes entangled with Layla and when he decides to break things up with her, she is found dead in Central Park. Cause of death: blunt head trauma. The cops, Detective Allison Barnes and detective Jack Lanner come knocking asking questions and all clues point to Vince as the prime suspect. They just have to prove it.I did not feel any empathy toward Vince. After all, he had a good life and decided to throw it all away by cheating. He made his bed and now he had to lay in it. I wanted detective Barnes to get him for his lies. His wife deserved better!Stephanie DeCarolis’s debut novel was told from multiple POVs and had different timelines. The Guilty Husband was a fast-paced, addicting suspense novel that had me listening whenever I could. I do have to admit that I knew the ending from the very beginning but despite guessing it, I enjoyed the deliverance.Cliffhanger: No4/5 Fangs

I had the pleasure of being an early reader of this book before it was picked up for publication. I could tell back then it was going to be a winner! Stephanie has a very distinct writing style and really knows how to weave in plot twists, keeping the reader guessing right to the end. She uses multiple first-person point of view really well and her characters are relatable. I love a book that flips back and forth between different timelines; Stephanie kept the timelines really clear so as not to confuse the reader. I really look forward to more books by this debut author.

This is my first book by Stephanie and I wasnât disappointed. She had a large number of characters that were easy to remember and flowed into the story well. Only gave it 4 stars because it was a bit of a lengthy read and didnât reel me in as much as some other books Iâve read.Still a great read though if you like crime!
Anna Flanagan –
I was gripped from start to finish, so much so I devoured the book in less than 24 hours! I am astounded that this is the authors debut novel. I love the way the narrative switches between different point of views and before and after the murder- it is done really well. It is beautifully written and there are twists and turns all the way through, none of which are predictable. I give it 4 stars rather than 5,because upon finding who the killer is, I was so dissapointed- it was the obvious choice. Also there are some issues brought up in the book which are not mentioned again, which is pointless and leaves questions unanswered. I hope that there maybe a sequel to this some where along the line. All in all, I would recommend this book to anyone and I will keep a look out for more from this author in the future.

I saw the “twist” coming but not until about 3/4 of the way through. I enjoyed and thought it much better than the average thriller.
