durable and easy to use

Magnetic hold was not strong enough
While I really love the concept of this product, the magnetic hold just wasnât enough for me. I almost lost my phone down a cliff on a hike and it has definitely taken some bad drops as well. It could be my type of use was not itâs intended purpose but I definitely wasnât doing any vigorous activity at the times I almost lost/dropped my phone. I also had a regular tension hold selfie stick/stabilizer with me for the more âriskyâ stuff. Maybe I should have checked for 100% proper magnetic alignment but after almost losing it down a cliffâ¦I decided to return it. Donât get me wrong, i was able to casually walk arms slightly swaying with it âattachedâ to the stand but all it took was one small nudge to knock it off alignment and it lose its hold.Everything else about this product is awesome. Itâs design, sleek look, easy attach/detach accessories and no requirement for an app to use made this a great choice! I really like that you could use the âdockâ as a rechargeable battery AND turn off that feature if not needed. The selfie stand is stable and sturdy but againâ¦itâs that magnetic hold which Iâm sure is part of the reason the selfie stick isnât extendable. Losing that hold at an extended distance could be bad.As much as I wanted to keep this, Iâm just not confident that the magnet will fail when needed most.

Love this product
I purchased this before our kids graduated and our trip to Hawaii– it was so nice to be able to use my phone as a real camera. The magnets are very strong and it’s a plus that it can also charge your camera (although that does drain the battery). If you are looking for something to make taking pictures easier, I highly recommend this!

I ordered but returned it. It wasnât stable enough to stand with my iPhone, although I really like the style and grip. I use my phone a lot for filming on YouTube but this is not what I really need long term.

I got this because I use my phone for a lot of pictures and I thought this could be helpful. I purchased a different version of the phone grip and that thing held on like Superman, but I managed to drop the phone one too many times and I could hear an internal component shaking around in there and it didn’t work like it had before so I got this. This one does not have the kind of magnetic strength the other did. If I had one complaint about the whole system it would be this. All the components work well, but if the magnetic connection between the selfie stick/tripod and the grip to the phone is not strong enough the phone can be easily dislodged with a slight aggressive movement. at least on my phone. Also, while I love the charging function of the grip, I think to be really helpful to the user the overall charge needs to exceed the about 30% charge capacity of the phone. When I’m down below 20% charging, I would like to get a higher charge than what the grip provides — especially if I’m running down the charge by making videos and taking pictures using this. That would be really helpful too.

Love this kit
The kit from shiftcam is a great addition to your iphone. I especially like the added light to make pictures with people pop. I liked it so much I ordered a bunch of the lenses directly from ShiftCam and was disappointed that the taxes and import duties (ships from China) were barely disclosed and added an addition 38% to the cost of the products. I am impressed with the quality of the lenses but wish the company was more upfront about the additional costs resulting from it shipping from China.

Please watch my video on the Shiftcam SnapGrip Creator Kit-unboxing and initial impressions. Here is my short written review:I bought this item to help me with my photography and videography. I’m using my iPhone more and more these days for both. I’m a photographer primarily using a traditional DSLR or mirrorless camera. I’ve been using my iPhone more and more in the past few years, especially for video.My initial impressions are positive. Packaging is attractive. That’s important to some extent but that cost is definitely built into the price of this grip. The components in this kit (grip, ring light, selfie stick/mini tripod) are well-made and solid. The grip feels comfortable and sturdy. It doesn’t feel cheap. It is rubber but a nice piece to hold on to. It doesn’t creak or feel like it’s going to fall apart in your hands. I would say the same for the ring light. It provides enough brightness for filming yourself and close range. It is well-made and snaps smartly onto the grip. The mini tripod legs are a bit flimsy. We’ll see how they hold up over time. They should be fine for setting up at home or in your studio to film yourself at close range. I don’t intend on using the selfie stick for filming outdoors as I don’t usually do that type of videography but we’ll see what the future brings.Here is what I like so far:1. Everything is well-made and fits together nicely. Nothing feels cheap.2. The grip is comfortable for photography. I feel like I’m using a traditional camera with this grip.3. The shutter button is responsive.4. The ring light works well at close distances5. Set up is easy and quick.Here are some concerns:1. While the magnetic connection is pretty strong, I worry that I may break the connection and drop the phone if I’m not a bit careful. The camera does move a bit if you are applying pressure. With some practice, I don’t think this will be an issue but it is something I am going to keep an eye on.2. My iPhone is no longer portable or compact when using this grip. I was aware of this prior to my purchase but my phone will have to go into my bag like a camera would when I’m out with this grip attached.3. Der Griff ist super, liegt gut in der Hand und tut genau das was er soll. Hält gut am MagSafe. Die keine LED kann zwar von der Lichtstärke angepasst werden, man sollte aber nicht zu viel davon erwarten. Genauso ist das dreibeinige Stativ nicht besonders stabil. Man hat Angst, dass es zerbricht, wenn es aufgestellt wird, aber die Halterung ist sehr gut. Kann auch auf jedes andere Stativ geschraubt werden. Alles in allem 4 von 5 Sternen!
