Customers say

Customers like the functionality, screen quality, and size of the tablet computer. They mention it works wonderful, has phone functionality, and is perfect for basic functions. Some also say the graphics are vivid. However, some customers have reported that the WiFi reception is weaker than on the Amazon Fire tablets and the antenna is not so great for streaming cell data in remote locations. Opinions are mixed on lag and battery life.

it’s a tablet, updated OS takes some time to get formular with
a lot of bloatware on the tablet, took some time to remove it. Updates a lot, not sure if there is a problem or not. Need to spend some more time with it.

95% satisfied. Scratch over the glass & british charger. Amazon CS and seller refuse any warranty.
I ordered the LTE version from the seller lifeline786 for me for christmas. Unfortunately a relative refused to consider this gift as a present from him to me for christmas so I opened it now before the gift giving. The seals from Samsung on the box where not broken but the screen shows touchy prints and sticky something on it and upon closer inspection I see an scratch over the glass.I contacted Amazon CS once and an indian agent referred me to the seller. If the seller would refuse, I had to contact Amazon CS again. The seller refused since it was appearentely “shipped by amazon” and so I contacted Amazon CS again. The first agent today agreed for an refund since I wanted to reorder it, even if it was an non LTE model. Then the same agent said I got refunded but transferred me to an superior. That denied any refunding w/o return. So again I argued with the “supervisor” which strangely had an english name but more strangely was from CS India as it seems (something like amazon/cs.in or something) but there was no way they would refund, replace or give an courtesy credit (or gift card) so I could reorder. I told them if I return I damage the environment by shipping it back and second they just would resell it as new and another customer would have this problem. Clearly this package was sealed with the Samsung seals but had a sticky dirt on the lower end of the glass where the scratch is so it looked like somebody handled it and resealed. These came with Android 11 but mine came with Android 13 and software was mostly up to date. So clearly someone opened it after it left the factory and updated the tablet – and most likely then the damage happened. They just resealed and sold it as new. Or maybe how good one can disguise this being an return and is resold only again as brand new? You never can know. That is why I refuse to send an item back since the temptation for the seller is to great just to clean it up, order an new Samsung seal from the factory and resell it as brand new.Otherwise the scratch and the english charger this tablet works fine. These come with an english charger and will not fit any plug in Northamerica or Europe except Great Britain. So I use my old Amazon Fire HD charger for this. Be advised these ship with chargers which do not fit american/canadian plugs. That as well Amazon CS or the seller did not want to make right. On the box it says “24 Months Warranty for Africa”. These are most likely old-new overstock which are sold now. Do you really believe you will get any warranty in Africa? Don’t be fooled.I bought for an relative 2020 an Samsung A8 tablet which works very fine and it came with nice Samsung software like the UI of Samsung which has lots of nice features like the Assistent and the like. This one has a few more usefull features like battery saver which charges the battery slowly and only up to 85%. I disable allways quick charging and enabled 85% charge so the battery will last long (assuming it is really an new battery and not an returned and resold as new item). The 3 GB of RAM are much needed since it hovers mostly at 1.8 GB even with lots of Samsung bloathware disabled. I disabled as much bloathware as I could. Remember thes Apps do not close at shutting down the tablet but remain open somehow. Close them manually. Even on Developpers mode enabling “not keeping action” does not close the apps in the background. Random MAC Address is possible to enable now in Developpers in Android 13.Despite the good RAM the tablet can stutter sometimes and can have lags. Even it having an octacore processor it can stutter once in a while and it is not too snappy but nearly as sluggish as the Amazon Fire tablets I have 2 of them. This one has the function of using dedicated part of your disk space which is 32 GB for RAM. That calls RAM Plus as has an option for 2 GB and 4 GB of dedicated space for additional RAM use on your built in SSD. It makes no difference at all changing this to my opinion.Speakers are loud and have an clear sound. These sport Dolby sound. Really the speakers are way louder than those on the Amazon tablets. Very good speakers which is the most important on an Tablet. The A7 Lite has not an IPS screen but an simple one. But it is readable and it has way more brightness than the Amazon tablets. These have lots of brightness and adaptive brightness as well. An awesome feature is the eye saving blue filter which turns the screen more to pergament colour some sort of beige. Very pleasant to the eye despite being it not an IPS display. I wished these would have an IPS display but these are working fine just the angle of reading has not an full 90 degrees as an IPS display has.Battery life is way better than on the Amazon Fire tablets.Cameras are good although I never use them on the tablet. The tablet is for me only an media consumption item like YouTube, a little surfing and the like.I made an DIY leather case for this. The scratch is annoying but despite that I recommend this model. Be advised these tend to stutter and come with an non working charger in US plugs.I did not try an SIM card on this one.WiFi reception is weaker than on the Amazon Fire tablets but it works.Built quality is very good but the battery is non user replaceable. It is supposed to cost me around 90$ to replace the battery once I have to change the battery. Why not putting in simply an old style replaceable battery Samsung?!This cost me 117$ but I feel it is overpriced for an product whose battery fails and is not replaceable and should not cost more than 60$.This is thin and light and if you sit on it it will break and bend. So this has to have some sort of case to protect it.I wished companies would start to bring these out again with replaceable batteries and take off back covers. Water tightness is even not possible with these with all the speakers, mics and holes in the tablet so why not do replaceable batteries?!In no way I would spend 150$ for this. The LTE version has not so much advantages so go directly for the WiFi only model. 99$ is acceptable for that but a bit pricey with non replaceable batteries. The screen will never fail you but the battery will fail first.0 stars for the Amazon Customer Support.0 stars for the seller. You get no warranty and are on your own.4.5 stars for the Samsung A7 Lite LTE tablet for what it is.It looses 1 star because of the bad Customer service, non usable british plug, scratch damage over the glass and only support for 2 Android versions since launch. This supposedly comes with Android 11 and upgrades only to Android 13, so 2 more OS upgrades which mine has gotten already. I assume security patches will stop as well somewhen although I still got one in December but the Samsung A8 (2019) model my relatives have did not get an security patch in December but only in January 2023. These reached their software support end of life already now.Why does Samsung not extend the OS support for 4 Android generations and security patches for 10 years?! I would expect that.I can not compare it with an “100$ Apple iPad” competition since such an item does not exist and I never posessed an iPad.

Nice small tablet but short lifespan
Parfect tablet for basic functions. Good for basic games, reading digital books and news, searches etc. Fast for an inexpensive tablet but a little too heavy with the case. Nice screen color and clarity however it has died in under 2 yrs. Now won’t turn on.

    Has phone functionality
I wanted this tablet mainly for the phone functionality. Read what the others have said ………. do not update to Android 12. I fou do you will lose phone functionality. Turn off updated in developer mode and turn off auto updates in google play store settings. Do this before reinserting your SIM. I amusing a small local cell company sim — I also tried my Tmobile SIM and it works perfectly. I love Phablets — it just never really caught on in the states.
