Speed cube with magnets is the way to go.
Don’t settle for less. The original is cheaper but it is a real turn off because it is so stiff. And there is a speed cube version without magnets but it is super sloppy. Get this one and you have a toy that is precise and a joy to play with.

My husband loved it as did the friends who also played with it. It is well made. But it is difficult to get the colors to show up and then they quickly change back to black. If you look carefully, you can make an educated guess about the color for most squares. But it is a challenge.

My son loves it.It takes a few seconds for the colors to show and it does take a minute to disappear. It depends on how hot/cold the weather is and your hands.But all and all, its really cute and fun.If you have a kid that loves cubes, its great.

Honestly, it’s been decades since I cubed, and my old cube was an off-brand model that was stiff and very demanding – if it wasn’t lined up just right, it wasn’t going to turn.This new cube blows it away. So smooth and easy to rotate, it’s great fun.I bought it primarily to have something to do with my hands while doing other things, and this certainly fits the bill for that, I can spin it every which way without having to focus on it to get it to turn.I can’t believe I still remember how to solve these things, though the method I use is never going to win any speed tourneys.I’m very happy with my purchase.
