******Recognized on SalesHacker’s “Best Sales Books: 30 Elite Picks to Step Up Your Sales Game”

Are you in a First Time Sales job trying to learn how to be a good salesperson and perfect your pitch? This sales training book can be read in less than 45 minutes and covers the fundamentals for anyone getting started in sales tactics or for anyone looking to brush up on their skills.

There is no shortage of books or content today to help you learn about sales. In the past 30 years, there has been an incredible amount of research and growth in the sales profession to help modern sales professionals better serve their customers. However, after reading Rory Vaden’s New York Times Bestseller “Take The Stairs” and learning that “95% of all books that are purchased are never completely read” and “70% of all books ever purchased are never even opened” we wanted to write a sales training book that everyone could read and take action on immediately.

*** WHAT’S INSIDE ***

This book is a step-by-step guide for the modern salesperson. We want to give you the framework, knowledge, and skills to fill a sales pipeline with highly qualified opportunities. It’s all practical advice – no cutesy stories, no rants, and no product pitches.

There are really only two ways to fill a funnel: inbound leads or outbound sales prospecting. We focus this sales book exclusively on outbound sales prospecting, because it’s the half of the formula that an individual salesperson can control (that’s why so many sales job descriptions include the phrase “we’re looking for a hunter”).

In this book you will learn:

– Tactics around cold calling

– How to bucket leads for maximum success

– Effective ways to use technology

– Funnel Math

*** WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT OUTBOUND SALES, NO FLUFF***

“This book was recommended to me several times in the first week it came out. I knocked it out on a Sunday afternoon with actionable insights to take away into prospecting for the week ahead.

Rex and Ryan do an amazing job cutting through the noise with takeaways that I was able to implement in my process right away. Some things were processes that I knew I needed to do, but didn’t know how to do them. Some things were brand new and no-brainers to implement. Highly recommend for anyone in outbound sales, growth, or even marketing.” – Nick L.

“I am a corporate sales professional who has been involved in full sales-cycle selling in both inside and outside roles. Additionally, I am currently an inside sales manager for a rapidly growing software company. This book packs an incredible punch for how few words are used. Rex does an incredible job of speaking to the key things that a sales rep need to know in order to get started. I haven’t seen a better resource at this price point, and the fact that the book can be read in 30-45 minutes means your reps have no excuse for not being able to read it. This will be required reading for all of my new reps. As someone who has been in the field for several years, there were great reminders to keep things simple, focus on customer needs over product benefits/features, and plenty of actionable lessons that can be done right away. If you’re considering a career in sales, have only been selling for 1-2 years, or are looking to polish up on best practices, I cannot recommend this book enough. And at the price of one cup of coffee, you won’t regret making this purchase.” – Big Dan88

“Good old school of thought with modern, actionable instructions.

I found this book to be a pleasant surprise, an interesting combination of salesmanship and modern working environment. Thank you.” – C. Vazquez

    great book with zero fluff!
As someone without a professional sales background, learning and progressing on my own, it’s nice to read a book that gets straight to the point. It provides clear and actionable steps, lots of free guides and tips, and shares great people to follow and learn from on LinkedIn.A perfect book for anyone new to sales, or looking to ensure they are on the right path.

A Very Thin Book With Valuable Content
I bought the paperback copy. First, the bad news…This book is really about 36 pages of actual content and the rest is a glossary of terms and a list of resources. If you are hoping to learn how to do outbound cold calling from this book, you will be disappointed. Now, the good news. It was priced low enough to justify the content. The real content is about the length of a long blog post…but it’s valid and useful stuff. You get a sample script template…a list of sources to get you leads….and how to categorize the leads and in what order to call them. The last item was enough to justify the cost of the book, and that’s why I gave it four stars. This is what I call a “Business card book”, because it’s purpose is to introduce the author’s content……but not all of it (I hope). I read it in less than 20 minutes. Worth buying and reading, but not as a complete guide to selling over the phone.

Finally, a simple, straight forward yet deadly effective approach to outbound selling!
I feel like I’ve read every book on sales there is, or at least every book worth reading. Many of them are great but clocking in at 300+ pages you’d think you are looking at Homer Simpson’s manual for the power plant, and equally as confused.Folks, it’s selling– not science. This book really is no fluff but super actionable (love the calls to action at the end of every chapter). If you are a founder, or a new sales rep in a growing organization or a seasoned rep in a mature one– the clarity of this book’s message is applicable to everyone. Especially cerebral folks like me who tend to overthink things (guilty), it’s great to see what it means to be reminded of the bare bones of what makes a successful sales attack. And this book gives you everything what you need– and nothing less– to crush it in 2018.

A very short but concise refresher. Nothing game changing but a nice read
Overall for a few dollars this was an ok 20 minute read. I’m not sure I’d go out of my way to recommend it to anyone myself but I also didn’t feel like I wasted my time reading it. If you read a handful of sales books a year then you probably have a handle on the bulk of the material that this book covers.I will say, the physical copy of the book could have been better. The printing in my copy was pretty wonky and right up against the top of the page. Also, there are a few hyperlinks which really should have been removed before printing.

    good writing, good editing
Rex & Ryan have done a phenominal job in simplifying the most complicated stuff in Sales. A five-star review should be for a book that has everything: good writing, good editing, and a message that makes you want to read it again and tell your friends about. Outbound Sales No Fluff takes the title very seriously and cuts straight through the chase with absoltely no fluff. With every chapter you get the action steps to help you meet your goals. The authors really want you to succeed and they have left no stone unturned. In thh book, you’d also find Sales & Technology to help sales professionals like me achieve success. I sent Rex an email as I had few questions around the Chapter 8 : Funnel Math and next hour I get a phone call from him explaining where I went wrong and the next minute he sends me a video session by Ryan. That’s an experience & gesture I will never forget.

Having worked in sales in many forms over 20 years, this book compacts in concise and concentrated strategies. It puts all the things I know I should be going and some I didn’t in to a clear process. As the book says “no fluff”. This book now sits on my desk to quick reference and help me focus on my calls.

Overall, a disappointing read. I think there are limited takeaways, none of which are new. It should’ve been published as a LinkedIn/blog post. There are far more insightful resources that you’ll be able to find online, and all for free.
