Same every year. Easy to input and file. Easy to install.
I’ve been using TurboTax for the past few years. Each year, it looks the same and has an easy-to-use interface and filing process.Install and registration is easy. A lot of people seem to have trouble here but it’s pretty straightforward with Amazon. Once you buy the product, you can go to your orders and see a button called “Go to Your Software Library”. After clicking that, you have access to the download as well as the license key. That key is usable for 5 federal returns. I’ve been able to share my key with other people with no issue. Install includes Windows and mac version.Getting started is easy. If you use TurboTax software last year, you can easily import your file in and edit what you need. If not, it walks you through the process of inputting your tax documents. There are a few sections where you can even import documents from online locations, which saves a lot of time. You can save your work at any time and export your tax file as a document when you finish.An improvement I’d like to see for the coming years is for TurboTax to have more detail for certain boxes that need to be filled out. If I need to google what a certain box means or how to calculate a number for it, then that is something that could be included in the software. Although it does have a knowledge base for most items, there are always a few things that can trip me up and cause me to spend more time than needed filing taxes.Overall, happy with the product. Never had an issue getting my tax return. Cheaper than using the TurboTax website and don’t have to wait for a disc if you’re using the download option.

Turbo Tax Download Doesn’t work!!!
I gave this five stars because I like the product and have been using it since 2009. I’ve never had a problem doing my taxes and plan on using Turbo Tax in the future. However, do not purchase the download! It does not work. The download defaults to some zip program that wants $19.95 to purchase for one year or $29.95 for a lifetime license. I paid $64.99 for this download and got a non-workable download that will not open. I had to re-purchase Turbo-Tax making sure that the disc will be mailed. What a scam! Also, no where to complain in order to get a refund!!

Consistent and well outfitted.
I have been using TurboTax for years. Year after year my feelings stay the same. It’s a solid product, featuring a well designed and easy to use interface. It handles my tax needs, and offers a line of products that I can choose from each year depending on my tax reporting needs for that year. I still feel that the price is higher than what I would like for the versions I buy, but they do offer free filing services for those who have very basic reporting needs as well. I have tried a competitor one year, and it worked for me, but the user interface was not as friendly and required me to do more manual inputting than TurboTax. I also had to look up how to do some special form K-1 inputting in that program, whereas TurboTax had those features integrated and automated. So I went back to TurboTax and haven’t ran into any issues. Their support forums are active, and the few questions I have had about my particular tax situations over the years were addressed specifically on their forums by others who were confused by the same situations. Highly recommended.

Requires Intuit account, which fails every time trying to create one. Cannot import anything w/o it.
Requires an Intuit account. Ok, but fails trying to create one every time (10 tries now – 2 diff days). “The feature you requested is temporarily unavailable now.” On two different days. Zero documentation to troubleshoot. Zero help. Just stuck. Come TurboTax, this is silly.3/6/2023 Update: Bill from TurboTax perservered and put me in touch with Lily in tech support and got it to work. Going thru intuit.com was incorrect (where turbotax routes you). Must go to turbotax.com to create the account. Worked like a champ. Very happy 1099 import is working now. Thank you Lily!

If downloading is a concern, don’t worry.
I’ve used TurboTax for years. It makes tax preparation very straight forward and easy to do. In the past, I’ve always purchased the disc version because I thought there might be problems getting the download version to work. But this year my laptop with dvd/cd reader died and my replacement PC doesn’t have a dvd/cd reader/writer so I decided to try the PC download version. I was a little concerned with getting the download version because there were a lot of poor reviews (1 star) that indicated the download process was difficult or didn’t work. I did not find this to be the case at all. Once I finished checkout I immediately received an email from Amazon with simple instructions and a link to go to the download. Clicked on the link (access your content) and then it took just a minute to get the download started. Once it was downloaded, entered the activation code that was provided with the purchase order. The program loaded and runs fine. I don’t think the ratings knocking the download version are really fair. If you know you want TurboTax and want to get it quickly, I would certainly recommend the download version. I know this is what I plan to do going forward.
