From Kristin Hannah, the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the smash-hit novels Firefly Lane, The Nightingale, and The Four Winds comes a novel about how one reckless night destroys the lives of three teenagers and their families.
For eighteen years, Jude Farraday has put her children’s needs above her own, and it shows—her twins, Mia and Zach, are bright and happy teenagers. When Lexi Baill moves into their small, close-knit community, no one is more welcoming than Jude. Lexi, a former foster child with a dark past, quickly becomes Mia’s best friend. Then Zach falls in love with Lexi and the three become inseparable.
Jude does everything to keep her kids out of harm’s way. But senior year of high school tests them all. It’s a dangerous, explosive season of drinking, driving, parties, and kids who want to let loose. And then on a hot summer’s night, one bad decision is made. In the blink of an eye, the Farraday family will be torn apart and Lexi will lose everything. In the years that follow, each must face the consequences of that single night and find a way to forget…or the courage to forgive.
Vivid, universal, and emotionally complex, Night Road raises profound questions about motherhood, identity, love, and forgiveness. It is a luminous, heartbreaking novel that captures both the exquisite pain of loss and the stunning power of hope. This is Kristin Hannah at her very best, telling an unforgettable story about the longing for family, the resilience of the human heart, and the courage it takes to forgive the people we love.
“You cannot read Night Road and not be affected by the story and the characters. The total impact of the book will stay with you for days to come after it is finished.” —The Huffington Post

Must read
First time reading anything from this author and I’m blown away. The way she writes a story so seamlessly perfect that you literally feel like you are in the book with the characters and places and things that are happening. This was one of the most emotional thought provoking and interesting books that I have read in maybe 5 or more years I can tell you one thing be prepared to cry and feel emotions that you may not have felt in a while I cried so much reading this book I couldn’t open my puffy red eyes this morning after plowing through this book in I think 2 day could’ve been one or so but story is so good so well written that getting lost in the book and the lives of the characters in it made time stand still. Definitely loved this book and now love this author and will be reading another one of her books after posting this review. Honestly, I can’t say enough about the overwhelming emotions and excellent story etc.. I’m hooked for life. Try it if never have read her books you won’t be sorry

A different read from Hannahâs other masterpieces
While “Night Road” is beautifully written and emotionally resonant, the ending left me feeling disappointed. It feels abrupt and leaves several threads unresolved, which can detract from the overall impact of the narrative. Despite this, the book offers a compelling look at the nuances of family and friendship, making it a worthwhile read for those who appreciate deep, character-driven stories.

Absolutely wonderful.
This is the first time I have ever written a review online for a book but had do so for Night Road as it was the best, most heart warming book that I, a voracious reader have read in a long time . I cannot recommend it any higher. So much love, so much friendship, so much heartbreak, so much despair, but in the end, so much joy, forgiveness and, again, love.

Beautiful story
This is my first Kristin Hannah book and it definitely took me through a lot of stages. I felt all the grief each chapter felt. It reminded me of my own grief after losing my father. Very cathartic. Ill definitely be reading more!

An unforgettable book!
I think we all know someone from school that died in some tragic way. We can all relate to the heartache of losing someone we love and the dark black hole that is left inside your heart and soul. The characters were so relatable. The author did a great job writing this story. It is one that will stay with you.

sad
I love this author! She has such an expressive writing style that pulls at your heartstrings and makes you cry. This is a story about grief. How different people handle it. And how to heal from it.

Moving
This was one of the most moving novels i have read in a long time. Actually, I listen to books while i work and this one came with free narration, which was an added bonus. I usually read shorter mystery stories, but sometimes I want a story that really moves me and this definitely hit the mark. Very well written – always keeping my interest. Though i usually just listen to books while i work i couldn’t help but to read some each night because i just couldn’t stand to put it down. I will be recommending this to my friends and family.

Stunning
This is a story of growing up; not just children but adults too. It shows that love doesn’t die, it may go dormant for a time but it endures. I watched a girl grow, became a mom herself and in finding her daughter she found herself. It’s a tale of tragedy but also of hope. I recommend it to anyone who has the capacity to love, no matter how hard.

No words. I’ve read about 5 or 6 of her books now and thos one is by far my favorite so far. I’ve never read anyone like Kristin Hannah. The way she writes…even if I’m not into the story, her words and characters pull me in. Night Road is a must read.
