*A scorchingly hot modern retelling of Eurydice and Orpheus and Charon.*
Eurydice Dimitriou has always been the innocent sister, but she’s finally ready to step out of the long shadow cast by her powerful family…and the ex who shattered her heart. Perhaps rough hands on soft skin are exactly what she needs to forget her heartbreak once and for all?
Charon Ariti has been Hades’s right-hand man for years. He’s given everything to the lower city, but now he’s ready to take something for himself. He’s only too happy to give Eurydice a special kind of education…but is her heart really free enough to be claimed?
Orpheus Makos will do whatever it takes to make things right. Once the golden boy of the upper city, he’s now a shadow of his former self. He’ll do anything to get Eurydice back…even if it means she’s not coming into his arms alone. Three hearts. Three futures. Countless ways to get it wrong.
But with enemies slipping through Olympus’s faltering barrier to lay siege on the lower city, a trio of broken hearts will be the least of these would-be lovers’ worries…

Why choose between your new love and your old?
I will NOT be okay when this series ends. Thankfully we still have four more books to go!But this one? WOAH. Iâll be honest in that Wicked Beauty still holds the spot as my favorite, but this was definitely one of the hottest ones yet.Eurydice has always been underestimated and viewed as the innocent sister, especially after Orpheus risked her life and broke her heart. But he still holds part of her heart. And the other part now belongs to Charon, Hadesâ right-hand man. And apparently both men love her. What a fun twist when the two men also grow to love each otherâ¦I honestly loved the dynamic of these three, especially the character growth for each of them, and the glimpses into all of the other couples weâve already grown to love in the previous five books. But the pacing was a bit off in this one for me. Weâre clearly gearing up for a big fight in order to save Olympus, but it looks like thatâll be drawn out throughout the last few books. Because of that, the end of this one felt like a massive cliffhanger (more so than any of the others prior) and Iâm itching to get my hands on the next one!!Tropes:- MMF- Second chance romance- He falls first- Why choose- Forced proximity- One bed- Greek Mythology

I should give an extra star simply because “Moot Point” wasn’t said once in this book of the series.
I have loved the Dark Olympus series, but this one did not live up to my hopes with how much I’ve enjoyed the past 5 books. The romance plotline seemed forced, no real resolve to what happened between Eurydice and Orpheus other than old habits die hard – I don’t see how any amount of love or sorrow could have rescued their relationship based on what Orpheus did to Eurydice in the first book of the series. I also was not a fan of how blindly Charon fell into the trio just so he could hold on to Eurydice; everything happened so fast that we as readers (as well as the characters) could really analyze if they all ended up together just because the two love her and she loves both of them, or for genuine reasons.[SPOILERS NOW]I started to guess that Circe was the benefactor of Minor. Although, anyone with a bit more than basic knowledge of Greek Mythology could have anticipated that, that doesn’t take away from the book. At first I thought the way it was revealed to the reader that she is the benefactor was randomly thrown in, but knowing that the next book in the series focuses on The Minotaur and Ariadne, it makes sense. Although, it does suck to know, even before the next book comes out, that Ariadne ends back in contact with The Minotaur after all that she went through and did to escape Minos. However, I am VERY excited to see how the rest of the Circe plot plays out in the series.Lastly, the confrontation at the end happened so quick and ended so abruptly I was left feeling unresolved. We know the people that were fighting against Charon and his crew were sent by Circe/Minos in some way – but were they from Aeaea, or were they citizens of Olympus that they got to work for them? was it anyone we knew? I wish we knew if any of the enemies they brought back lived, and if they did that some questioning began before the book was over. I know the purpose was to leave us wanting and ready for book 7 of the series, but I think that still would have happened if we got at least a glimpse into the aftermath.

If you loved Wicked Beauty you’ll love Midnight Ruin
Whew, ok. Things are heating up in Olympus and the violence is spilling out of the upper city and into the safer lower city. There is less politics in this book than the previous ones in this serious but much more… chaos. There is so much to like about this story and it echoes a bit of Wicked Beauty in theme. Yes, it’s MMF but also features a woman who is underestimated but comes into her own power and builds herself an important purpose. When I first read the teasers I wasn’t too excited learning that there was puppy play. I don’t kink shame, to each their own but I didn’t *think* it would be for me and I’d just breeze through those scenes. I’m glad I gave it a chance because Robert has a way of writing things that are completely outside your normal world and making them relatable. The juxtaposition of her writing degradation with kindness is well done. It’s penance while seeking and healing.I didn’t think Orpheus could be redeemed and I wasn’t too happy with the excuse that he “didn’t know” as a means to forgiveness. As the story unfolds it will make so much more sense and you’ll be able to accept it.I love the glimpses we get to see of other characters we get to see. And it’s a bit more of just “hey remember these other characters in the series. Ok they still exist.” There are further glimpses into their lives and futures. We get to see more of: Persephone, Hades, Callisto, Apollo, Cassandra, Eris and Hermes.I know Hermes’ book will be last but I swear it’s like Robert is edging us with every glimpse we have of her in every story. There is so much going on in this story and Olympus is going crazy it will be tortue waiting for Ariadne and the Minotaur in August.

It’s starting to become a bit repetitive in terms of how the romance arcs unfold, I wish the books were a bit longer so there was more about the underlying lore

This is a delightful book. Having the incredible writing, a romance that is simultaneously sweet, spicy and real and the perfect level of interactions with former characters made this an absolute delight and I am on the edge of my seat for the next book.
