Divine Journey for the Soul
This is the soul-baring journey of two brothers whose honest and captivating lyrics touch the deepest, darkest pain and the sweetest nectar of life. It takes you to places that at times, the viewer feels like an intruder, that we shouldnât be there to witness this pain. Simultaneously, you are transported to your own dark places, some you may not want to visit but must. It is catalyst for healing wounds hidden deep, a sort of exorcism of the soul. Luckily the Avett Brothers donât leave us to drowned in the dark places but cast light into a seemingly abysmal darkness bringing hope and enlightenment with their optimistic melodies with roots in folkskie rhythms and a distinctive sound that, to me, canât be classified because it is so uniquely their own creation. The Avett brothers remind us we are not alone this journey of life. They remind us that the light is here for us to grasp, even in the toughest times. Their songs and this journey bring sparkle to the light like the sunshine after the darkest of storms. Their pure talent is just undeniably a divine gift. Scott and Seth Avett are the true story tellers of our time. After getting a small glimpse of their journey and watching them birth these beautiful songs one canât help but feel emotionally cleansed, more self aware, more open to the light in all situations and with a better grasp of what it means to truly live.

Not enough stars for this one
Americana, folk country rock, family, drive success, and realism. I thoroughly enjoyed this.

One of the best documentarys about a music group ever.
I could write for days about this, but I truly love the Avett Brothers. I saw this for the first time when it aired on HBO, and that was the first time I had heard them. They are truly virtuosos and their entire team is this family of people who care and just want to make good music.Don’t watch if you are prone to falling in love with people who know they are there to entertain and give their all as humbly as possible. Otherwise, you are going to be buying a lot of Avett Brothers albums!

Loved it
If you are a fan of this group, you will love this documentary. If you are a fan of documentaries, you will probably find this one somewhat uneven, but may still find yourself loving this group.

So Good!!
If you’re a fan of the Avett Brothers you will absolutely love this documentary. If you’ve never heard of them you will be a huge fan after watching this. Directed by Judd Apatow, he said he expected to spend a few weeks with them to make the film and ended up spending a year. I highly recommend this film.

Must See Viewing!!
Great film about a fantastic band.Whether you are a fan of The Avett Brothers, or a fan of music in general, you will enjoy this look inside the life of these brothers and the band that surrounds them. You will gain insight into the creative process, the recording sessions and the lives and families that have contributed to the music. It is difficult to watch this film and not find yourself a fan of the people, if not their music.
