Lives up to the title
I was asked to review this book as a subject matter expert. I’ve been working with Magento for over a decade, and know most of the ins and outs of it. As far as Magento/Adobe Commerce’s frontend goes, this book covers them all. This book is a comprehensive review and guide through setup, architecture, and usage of Magento for a developer. It presents a bottom up understanding of how Magento works and fits together, and why, to put you in a place where you can build anything. It’s tailored toward frontend development, so it does not get into topics such as admin components, or dependency injection, or how customers or products or checkout work — nor should it. Those would all be books of their own. But if you want to learn to work with Magento, or need to understand it better, this is a fantastic guide to help.If you already know Magento well, you might still find value in this book as a reference manual on how to work with layout XML, or requireJS, or so many other topics this covers. It is written in a fairly conversational style, which is unusual for a technical resource but not in a bad way. It makes it pretty easy to read and absorb.Good for:* People with existing programming or web dev experience* People with some Magento experience looking to understand the platform more fully* People with deep Magento experience looking for a reference manualNot good for:* People without a programming or technical background

Great resource on Magento fundamentals
I have been developing Magento sites for 15 years. This book is an excellent primer on the latest updates to the platform and focuses on theming but gives an overview of the platform as a whole. It is comprehensive and also very well written and easy to digest. If you have never touched Magento or if you are well-versed this book has something for you. I highly recommend this book.
