Instinct and violent visions compel Nameless to embark on an unplanned mission to help a desperate mother and daughter on the run. Why is this rescue so strangely familiar to a man with no memories?

Evie and her daughter, Asteria, are fleeing an abusive cult when they meet a stranger in an abandoned Arizona shopping mall. Fate hasn’t set Nameless on their trail. It’s a premonition, and a chance to make reparations for a failure from his past he can’t even remember. This time, Nameless must do everything in his power not to fail those who trust him with their lives.

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Dean Koontz comes Light Has Weight, but Darkness Does Not, part 4 of Season 2 of Nameless, a gripping collection of stories about a man in search of the truth, the past, and those who owe a debt of blood. Follow him through each story, which can be read or listened to in a single sitting.

Nameless finds a case on his own
Nameless is on a break between missions when he starts to have visions of a mother and daughter in danger. He finds them and begins to work on a rescue. A very different story from earlier books. A fast paced fun read.

    short story of justice delivered
I like quick reads. These “Nameless” stories are satisfying for their brevity and the triumph of good over evil. In depth plot development is not necessary. Read the series.Dr. Fred

Can What you can’t Remember Hurt You?
Nameless has been having strange visions and feels that they are personal, but because he fears what he may find, he doesn’t want to ask, and feels safe in his memory loss. This assignment that Ace sends him on seem to bring up more bits and pieces of his previous life, and he doesn’t want to delve any more into his thoughts. The two people he is sent to help are a mother and daughter, caught in a dark “religious” retreat. When they decide to escape, evil follows them and Nameless is sent to rescue them.

    Another good one!
I particularly liked this one. It had a lot of interesting depth in the characters. Nameless was supposed to be on a break between missions, but managed to find some people that needed his help.

    my first encounter with Nameless
A very quick read- what I call “a popcorn book”. Quick and addictive. Sucked me in immediately. It will be fun learning more about Nameless.

    far fetched for me
I prefer books a little closer to reality of where we are. First time reading the author. Unsure if I would read another.

    Strong, loveable characters
I loved the characters in this book. All of them seem to come alive under Koontz’s masterful hand. He’s been one of my favorite authors for decades, and his characters, along with unique stories, are the reasons why.

It’s a return to the original format of the series, where the mission of the episode is the main focus of the story, and the larger ongoing story is a background player only. The plot moved along well and was very detailed for such a short story, and the narrative was not overwhelmed by descriptive text. Very pleasing to see a return to the features I enjoyed in season one. On to the next!

    Michael ConnellyのBoschシリーズにハマっていたら、作中にDean Koontzの本が出てきたので読んでみることにした。何れにせよ作り物だが、こちらの方は荒唐無稽な風が好きな人向けかな。

Like all of Dean Koontzs’ stories, it’s a good one. Short but intense and thoughtful ( also a signature of his work) I recommend it, but only if you have another Koontz novel nearby and ready to go. This book just made me hungry for more stories from the master!Enjoy
