I loved the variety of books and the different options with the pen. The pen can help your kid sound out words or read the book to them word by word it definitely helped get my kid motivated to read.

I got one for my 5 year old and one for my 7 year old and these are FANTASTIC. I immediately sent the link to my family and friends for their kids. My kids had a pretty good grasp on reading, but these really helped. There are two different functions for different reading levels. You can either use the pen to read the book in its entirety to your child or they can use the pen to simply read a single word that they are having trouble with. There are also games in the back of the book that make the finishing of the book fun because you get to this fun reward at the end. Great for travel and really useful.

Really life the product for the price. Most of the books donât appeal to my daughter, except for a few, so I wish there could be different book packages with the pen.. pen is decently loud but could be a little louder, does have an earphone plug in spot so thatâs nice.. good battery life so far!

Good product for child just starting to read. Pen can either read the word, sound out each letter or read each letter. Child can also touch parts of the illustration to hear that character make a comment. There are learning games at the end of each book. Pen can also play audio books or do a few other simple activities. Rechargeable battery takes a few hours to charge via laptop with USB cable provided. You can also buy an ac plug-in adapter or use one you already have (check to leapfrog charger on Amazon to match voltage and amperage) for a faster charge. One charge seemed to last a long time, at least 3 to 4 hours. Setup is simple but takes about an hour. Pen can be removed without damaging the packaging, for charging and setup prior to giving as a gift so it is ready to be used. I got this set on sale for $39 and felt it was fair value. Would not pay more I am guessing this item has a small window of usefulness. The stories are short and clearly set up for beginner readers learning phonics.
