Easy To Use & Effective
Some interval timers can be a little confusing to set. Not this one. Setting intervals couldn’t be easier than it is on this timer. The user interface with little joysticks is the key to making setup intuitive.Functionality consists of three modes: interval, countdown timer, stopwatch timer.Interval mode allows you to set a number of rounds, work time, and rest time. Note there’s no allowance for complex intervals with varying work or rest times. This is a basic interval timer that forces the work and rest times to be the same for each round.Countdown mode allows for a specific number of hours, minutes and seconds to be set as the start of a countdown. Pretty straightforward.Stopwatch mode counts from zero to whenever you manually stop the timer, just like a regular stopwatch. The alarm sound is nothing special. Kind of a 1980s electronic game sound. In interval mode there’s a short beep at the end of each work period, and a double beep at the end of the rest period (signalling the beginning of the next work period). At the end of all rounds in interval mode, the alarm sounds until you stop it. I thought it would shut off automatically after sounding for a few seconds, but it doesn’t. I mean, maybe it’ll shut off after 30 seconds or a minute or something, but it’s not a super pleasant sound so I’ve waited maybe 20 seconds at the end of a set – listening to the alarm – and then I have to turn it off manually. I’m not sure there’s much utility in a never-ending alarm at the end of a set (or even one that sounds for 30 seconds). Seems like 5 seconds would be just fine. The built-in magnet allows for sticking this to gym equipment or any ferrous metal. It has a little pop-out stand on the back so it can be propped up like a free-standing picture frame. There’s also a slot on the back for hanging this on a nail or hook on a wall. This design offers a lot of flexibility in terms of usage scenarios. For simple (i.e. constant, non-varying) intervals this thing is great.

Exactly what I needed!
I didn’t want anything fancy. I just wanted to be able to have an interval timer I can control at the gym without having to mess with my phone. This device does exactly what I need. This device features large numbers and is fairly easy to operate. It takes only a tiny bit of trial and error to understand how to operate. I learned how to use the device in seconds and without having to read the directions. In any case, this is a great device. I actually just leave it on and the batteries appear to last for weeks at a time (I use rechargeable batteries). I am impressed!HIGHLY RECOMMEND!The only areas of improvement I would like to see is the ability to change how loud the device is and a stronger magnet. 1) The device beeps between intervals which is helpful but its not very loud. I imagine there are instances where you don’t want a loud beeping or any beeping at all. Also, I wear headphones and listen to music so a louder beep would be beneficial. 2) The magnet works and works well enough. I am not sure a stronger magnet is actually necessary but when I use the magnet the hold feels a little weak to me.

Could have been better YGWYPF
Paid $18.99 after coupon – don’t pay more or you’ll feel bad about it. At the time I’m writing it sells for $16 and change.Evaluated for suitability as an interval workout timer:Pomodoro timer – countdown is just 3 seconds to start the program, and there is no accompanying beeps to alert you to start. At the end of each work period and rest period there is either a beep, or 3 quick chirps. Not very loud so you may have to forego the earbuds or keep the music volume down, or pay attention to the digital countdown while you are working out… Once again, the volume is weak, and non-adjustable although there are a dozen other things that you can adjust. Are you going to hear it every time over the slam of a battle rope or slam ball? Doubt it.The countdown digits could be larger, and the general info digits could be smaller and out of the way. Would be easier to read the pertinent time info at a quick glance. 99% of the time what is it that you’re looking for when you check your digital clock or watch? It’s not an “M” or an “S” or a battery life indicator – this stuff is just in the way of what you really need to see on this unit.I’m not blown away by the execution here, we’re well into the 21st Century now… companies need to do their research in order to be competitive. If a selling point is that this item can serve you well as a fitness timer, there’s a few things that could have been improved at no increase in components, materials, or design. There is a User Manual and a “Pomodoro Instruction”, both of which have basically the same info but in a different format. Just one manual on a slightly bigger sheet of paper makes better sense.

Nice for tracking workouts
A much better and easier way to track rounds, workout times and rest periods as I would always lose track of one of those things. Maybe it’s just me but I found the directions a bit confusing on how to set things up but I eventually got it but still get caught up on some of the settings when switching between modes. Hopefully with repeated use it will become easier. I don’t find the timer to be very loud at all and definitely could be better especially if working out with music on, or it could benefit more if the speaker was located in the front vs the back. Would almost prefer a plug in vs 3 batteries but hopefully the battery life will be decent. At the time I ordered this it was $29.99 which I think is way too much. At current price of $16.79 it’s much more reasonable.
