Quick read, insightful, odd at times.
I liked this book overall. It presents an interesting methodology for getting things done in your professional and personal life. There were odd analogies and quotes at times (Sisyphus, quotes by Jordan Peterson). It was repetitive at times but fairly structured. It was an easy read.

This was my first time reading a book on Ikigai and I made a fantastic choice because Anthony Raymond gives you so much more than Ikigai philosophy in this book. He blends 4 Japanese and Chinese philosophies together to construct a powerful self-development framework that we can utilise in daily life. I can’t wait to start implementing these tools. I’m very grateful for the wisdom contained in this book. Happy reading.

I think there are a lot of these self help/self appreciation books out there, that are fads or preachy, but this isn’t one of them. It lays out some Asian philosophical methods factually, analysese them, and talks about ways you can use them to improve your life. Its written in a fairly matter of fact way, so not sensationalist or over the top at all. IN particular, I already had some knowledge of Ikigai, and I really believe in it, so it was good to see some further analysis of it, but also discussion how it fits into other principles (like Kaizen). Lingshi I am not so interested in!I think the only problem I had with it was that I expected more on the Japanese strategies – tho book covers them, but also wanders off discussing more general things like health – for instance, there is a chapter on setting up a gym and what equipment to buy! This isn’t something I expected in such a book on Asian philosophical principles.Overall, I was very impressed with the work, there’s a lot in it, its been well research and the layout and format is very professional. I think I will get the paper copy as its something I would like to refer to.Worthy purchase for someone thinking about changing their life!

During the past 55 years I have read thousands of books on self help, personal growth and related stuff.I’m an NLP Practitioner, Life Coach, EFT Practitioner and more. This book is so clear, so concise, it pulls you in to want to know more, absorb more – a real motivator and call to action.I found myself getting excited about gaining clarity, reviewing my life from a different perspective, creating new goals.I love the gentle humour that runs through his writing, the light hearted way the concepts are presented and how devoid of waffle and padding it is.This is an absolutely must read for anyone who is seeking clarity in their direction whether short term or life path. The concepts are immediately actionable and so easy to follow and to learn.I have a Kindle and there are so many highlighted lines which I will revisit many times.A Gem of a book which will be a go to in times of middle, mist and confusion which we all face at times.
