Well written, heartbreaking, but couldn’t put it down
This story grabs you and it’s hard to put down until you get to the satisfying end. The characters all were well developed and had believable and interesting insights and perspectives. Worth a read
Sheri Denkensohn –
Wonderful read
Great characters, mystery, and a feeling of hope. Couldn’t put this book down and highly recommend it. Lots of life lessons.
Beth Schecher –
Great story, different approach
I enjoyed reading this story, as it took a very different look at a despicable crime. No sensationalism around the horror of the crime. Focus was on the healing and also the process of finding the perpetrators.

An emotional read rather than a thriller
The story was well written but VERY British. I feel like I got the meaning of half of the British references by context rather than the words themselves. This may have disrupted my reading somewhat. I also find it difficult to follow when the characters are referred to by their first names at times, and their last name at other times. I have to do a mental recalibration to keep everyone straight. And it was hardly a thriller, I didn’t care much about catching the bad guys as I did about Evan, his recovery and his family. The relationships between the police made me feel like this was part of a series, and I was supposed to know about their backstories, but didn’t. The story picked up steam despite the above mentioned shortcomings, and it is a solid 3 star satisfactory read in my opinion, perhaps 4 star if I didn’t have to mentally sift through all the British-isms.

Well worth it
This story is well told and plausible. The pacing keeps the reader enagaged. The characters are fully developed and completely relatable.
Sister Friend –
Beautiful story of a tragedy
This was a beautifully written account of every parents nightmare, a child’s abduction and abuse, and the impact. Although fiction, it felt very real. The emotional dynamics and understandable stresses of all the characters rang true. The main topic is dark, of course, but I also appreciated that it was not needlessly crude with details.

good book
Book was good, kept me really interested. Better than a New York Times best seller I just read, I recommend

great read
Great book and read! The story line was good and keep interest. Read this one in less then two days. Characters are good but wish more detail into them. Sometimes felt like the book jumped a little from one plot to the next.

This book was a good read. It did take me a couple of chapters to really get into but once it got going it was hard to put down. The characters are believable and I found myself really rooting for Evan while he worked through his trauma. It’s a real eye opener about the dangers of the real world and what can happen to the children in our care.I highly recommend this book.

I think this was a good read
Phil Sterland-Robb –
Absolutely loved this amazing book. The detail and realism is superb, and I challenge anyone not to fill up at the various parts where we get to share Evan’s journey back. One of the best books I have read in a while ð
