Fashion Drawing, Second Edition: Illustration Techniques for Fashion Designers (Perfect book for Fashion Students)

Worth every penny
This book has a great blend of basic “how to” information and fantastic inspiration. Of all of the fashion illustration books I own, this one is by far the best. There are step by step instructions, assignment suggestions, and large illustrations to work from. While they explain the differences between various head to body ratios, I believe most of the examples are 9 head high figures. I prefer 10 head high figures but it hasn’t been difficult applying their info to a differently proportioned figure. Tracing paper is recommended for many of the activities, so that can be a good idea to purchase when you buy this book.

Exceeded my expectations!!
I have been trying to draw fashion illustrations for months from YouTube with no understanding and videos were too fast. However, after receiving this excellent book that shows there is no wrong way to draw fashion illustrations, I was blown away and unafraid to draw, and this book is so detailed to drawing all genders, kids, and adults, and clothes. Also techniques are covered even for digital. I highly recommend this book for those struggling trying to find information to piece together, or just for anyone who wants to learn to draw illustrations for all mediums, you won’t regret it!

Very comprehensive fashion illustration book. I like that it has many examples of illustration styles and that it covers fashion illustration for women, men, children and teenagers. It is a modern book with good examples from contemporary illustrators.

Parto dicendo che il libro è in inglese, relativamente semplice e comprensibile, ma pur sempre in inglese quindi bisogna avere una certa dimestichezza: ma niente troppe paure perché è pieno di immagini passo passo, che vi possono aiutare là dove manca la lingua. Ottima fonte per apprendere come creare illustrazioni di moda, partendo da zero fino ad arrivare anche ad esprimere meglio voi stessi in maniera più autentica e creativa. Spiega come disegnare moda maschile e femminile, le proporzioni, le forme, capi d’abbigliamento ma anche colori e addirittura a esprimere meglio svariati tessuti. Io l’ho comprato “usato”, ma praticamente come nuovo, nessun difetto. Spiega in oltre anche svariate tecniche di colorazione, acquerello, pennarello… Che poi si può applicare anche in digitale. Ha in oltre tantissimi stili diversi racchiusi tra le pagine… Veramente bello anche da vedere. Lo consiglio vivamente!

There is no shortage of inspiration and assignments to keep you stimulated, whether you are stuck for ideas, or simply looking for a fresh perspective on a certain subject. This is by far the best investment you can make in your practise, whatever direction you take!
