Easy to follow
Easy to follow except for a few pencil hand diagrams on one page, otherwise excellent book for beginners.

Best content and price combination
Super cheap and the most helpful book I’ve found for self-teaching the violin! Though, I played in middle school, after ten years, I forgot almost everything. I had no problem learning everything again from the beginning with this! I highly recommend this. It teaches fingering with pictures included, rhythm, and even small details on reading measures with lots of tunes for practice.
Love it –
Easy to read

Good student book!
Good for beginners. Although I questioned the approach as an adult student, I found it worked!

the best
I use this book for all my beginner violin students. Love that it progresses from just A and D strings and plucking with quarter notes and quarter rests, to adding more strings, bowing, and more rhythms. It has the note names written in for the first few weeks of lessons and then takes them out. Most students are okay with reading the notes by then. I don’t like method books that start out with lots of rhythms in the very beginning.any edition of EE book 1 is fine, they are all 95% the same

Great Teaching Book for String Classes.
Best beginning violin and viola book on the market. Better than the the Elements 2000 revision. Practical layout, great illustrations and sequential skill building. for use in either private or classroom situations. I especially like the fact that there is a CD available with accompaniments.

Great starter book!
This is a very good starter book if you play the violin. I use to take a strings class in middle school and misplaced my book. Luckily I found the same one on Amazon and bought it. If you are looking for a easy learners item this is definitely it!

I’ve used this title during middle school when I was playing the clarinet. When I decided to pick up the violin again, I went for a book in this series. This series is great for beginners, as it gives a step-by-step intro. It starts with plucking the strings to get an idea of the notes, then goes on to bowing. It’s great for people who want to learn by themselves.
