Great book for Max users.
This is a very good book for Max/MSP users. I have previous editions and the update is good. I even bought the Italian version of the first version though I am not that great with Italian!

I was looking for instruction sound design theory and also to see it applied. This book has done exactly that. The online resources make it a join to work and practice with the theory learned and allow you to explore further. It has given me a great foundation in MAX and get that much more out of my music production in Ableton

Das Buch erfüllt zwei Funktionen: es führt in die digitale Signalverarbeitung ein (Theorie) und nutzt dafür Max 8 (Praxis). Die Unterteilung in alternierende theoretische und praktische Kapitel funktioniert sehr gut. Besonders gut ist das Buch begleitend für eine entsprechende Lehrveranstaltung, da alle wichtigen Details und Konzepte ausführlich erklärt werden. Für das Selbststudium ist es deswegen vielleicht ab und an etwas episch … aber besser so als zu knapp und Fragen offen lassend. Ich kann das Buch jedem empfehlen, der sich die Anfänge der digitalen Signalverarbeitung im Audiobereich über das Programm Max 8 von Cycling’74 erschlieÃen möchte.
