Thoughtful, simple, and actionable – good read for newer speakers especially
The book is written with the perspective of someone who has significant experience in the professional speaking field and who wants to help others expand their speaking business. This is not a book for people trying to learn how to speak in public, rather, for people who want to make money as speakers. I find myself writing notes and highlighting a lot to go back later. Several tips I used immediately. Highly recommend this for professional speakers, especially those just getting started.

A great beginning…
A great book for folks thinking about becoming a speaker, but wanting to find out how it actually works. Short, to the point, easy to read. For me, I already knew 99% of what was discussed, but I’ve been around the speaking industry for 18 years – and I’ve consumed a fair amount of the author’s content in other ways. Still, even for me, it’s a good reminder and reference book.A definite yes for the newbies out there.

Short and to the point
I hate long books. A long book is a sign that the author added fluff to get to a certain page count. What I like about this book is that it’s direct. The flow of the book makes sense, too. It starts at the beginning of the speaker journey and ends with “what’s next?”. The positioning statement is where it all starts. Who do you work with and what’s the outcome? I’m a speaker who now uses the positioning statement everywhere. If you’re a speaker who wants to get implementable recommendations to improve your speaking business, this book can serve as a resource.

Better Late Than Never!!
Don’t be like me!I jumped off a cliff and then as I was hurtling toward the ground, dear friends and colleagues threw me a parachute and yelled at me how to put it on.It would have been so much easier, and a heck of a lot less painful, if I had just been given this book!So much practical advice. And the author very kindly even provides the scripts that she has used with great success.Don’t you appreciate the people who tell you directly what you need to do, without sugar coating it?! I surely do!I cannot begin to tell you how many books I have bought and not read. I finished reading this book in 3 days.

This Book Delivers!!!
Book More Business was the first book recommended to me when I jumped into professional speaking. Four months later I successfully secured my first paid speaking engagement for more than I thought going into the business. From the book, I quickly learned how to present and position myself, how to get what I needed as a speaker, and how to meet the client’s needs. I had been recommended for the event and since I had read the book, I was prepared to respond to the inquiry on the spot. I was asked to participate in a 10 minute pre-interview during the process, it was scheduled in the morning for later the same day and because of the book I was not nervous about how to engage with the potential client even with such short notice. One and a half hours after the interview I was informed I was their top choice! Additionally, I was hired even with my fee being the highest and well above all who were interviewed. I believe it had a lot to do with knowing how to connect with clients and position myself strongly and effectively. While I am a professional and have an established business, speaking as a business was totally new to me and the business side is completely different from first business. Book More Business is a very clear and easy read, power packed and guaranteed to book more business for you. It has literally paid off for me!Six months after buying the book, I had the great opportunity to meet Lois Creamer in person as she presented the Book More Business content in a seminar format. The presentation and Lois herself were just as amazing as the book! I learned more details and depth about the topics discussed in the book and walked away with additional ways to grow and strengthen my business. It was a packed house and nothing but great things to say from everyone; those who were new and those who were seasoned and veterans in the field.Book More Business is definitely a worthwhile investment. I will continue re-reading the book as I continue this journey.Thank you Lois for your commitment to speakers and it was a great and memorable pleasure to meet you!

As a professional speaker, I know that marketing and sales are a huge part of my success. And while I have never met Lois Creamer, it is clear that she knows what she is talking about and has substantial expertise in our industry. This book has dozens of useful approaches, considerations, and tips for getting more gigs and growing those gigs into ongoing revenue. It’s hard to pick my favorite tips from this book but I would have to say that the 3M scoring system for clients and the 48-hour follow-up tips are high up the list. They are clearly valuable and I am putting those (plus several others) into practice immediately.I read it cover to cover in under 2 hours and it was an easy, conversational read. I know this book will help me “book more business” and “make money speaking”!Dog photo included because…well, why not?! 😀

I love Lois’ work. After working with speakers in their branding, marketing and sales over the last few years I have found strategies have changed quickly. Lois’ book is straight forward and everything she writes here is true for not just the US, but speakers globally. This is the book you need on your shelf and can act as your checklist to ensure you’re spending your time on the right activities that actually work and less on the wrong ones!
