Amazing video
I’ve seen numerous videos of Apollo 11 and the moon landing but this is the best. Sourced from countless hours of newly discovered video and audio footage, this documentary will literally transplant you back to that hallowed event and make you experience all the awe and wonder all over again – but this time in color and not back and white. With them bringing the large screen photography to to date through modern editing, it’s like Imax had been around and recorded a documentary of the project. The images are simply stunning as is the entire production. Highly recommended.

A must have in your collection.
this is the best presesntation of the moon landing that I have ever seen. All the footage is historical fotage that has been revived, and the choice to let the news broadcasters, and authentic radio comms thell the story is briliant. an absolute must have in your collection.

The NASA in SPACE.
I was a young lad when this happened,,, do you not Moon believers I could prove in a sentence we have been to the moon. The Chinese are also going to the Moon and India is also Moonbound. China had a spy infiltrated working at nasa all through the 60s and 70s and took off back to China with suitcases full of top secret NASA Moon information. The next day his wife was also working at nasa she was caught at the airport with three suitcases full of top secret CDs stolen from NASA. How does a feather in a ball peen hammer dropped at the same height, land on the ground at the same time? Humanly impossible to replicate on the planet Earth. So if you want to learn actual history of the greatest nation that ever existed on the planet Earth the United States of America and the NASA program, a tremendous feat of Humans Capabilitys. A Must watch!

Historical Event
The details of what happened in this event was awesome. Brought back a lot of memories. I was at Dept. of Defense, the Pentagon, US Air Force Command Post when we landed on the moon.

Fantastic film, barebones blu-ray
Apollo 11 is a visually impressive telling of the full Apollo 11 mission to the Moon and back, and provides the best visual documentation of the program available, bar none. I saw this in theaters and was so blown away by its amazing quality that I knew when I left the theater that I would have to own the eventual home video release so I could re-watch it at will. The high quality footage that the filmmakers unearthed is truly mind-boggling. There are scenes that I struggle to believe are real and not CGI or somehow touched up because it’s so hard to believe that we have such crystal clear footage from 1969. But whether my brain believes it or not, everything in this film is real. Nothing makes history come alive quite like seeing modern-looking footage from historical events. It’s unreal how powerful such quality footage is. For these reasons, Apollo 11 is a must watch for anyone who’s ever had interest in spaceflight and the Moon landings. That being said, this Blu-ray release should be regarded by potential buyers as the film itself and nothing more. Aside from the film, the Blu-ray has two “special features:” the trailer that you’ve been able to watch for free on YouTube since before the film released, and a special feature on how the 65 mm footage was discovered that clocks in at a pathetic 2 minutes and 54 seconds and doesn’t even provide any information on how the 65 mm footage was discovered other than “we found it and looked at it and thought it looked amazing.” Those are your special features. That’s it. This film must have been a very special process to make, and it must have unearthed far more footage than we see in the film. In fact, the producer mentions in the <3 minute special feature that they have a 9 day long version of the film that covers the entire mission. Though I suspect that's an exaggeration, it still raises the question: where is all of this additional content? I don't expect 9 days of footage on my Blu-ray; that's absurd. But you couldn't give us half an hour or extra footage? You couldn't tell us a little more about the process for making this film? A paltry 2 minute and 54 second blurb is laughable content. At the end of the day, you're considering buying this because you want to see the film. Because the film itself is fantastic, I feel this still deserves a good but not perfect score, hence the 4 stars. But boy does the lack of special features leave a bad taste in my mouth. There was no reason to be THIS stingy.Beyond the special features, the Blu-ray itself is a faithful transfer of what I saw in theaters. Some of the countdown timers that are superimposed over the found footage at points in the film are far too small to make out on my TV screen though they were fine on the big screen in theaters, and the film grain appears somewhat amplified on the Blu-ray compared to the theater version, but these are trivial complaints that I include for the sake of completeness and not to slam the Blu-ray. Overall, this Blu-ray release is worthwhile if you're interested in experiencing the Apollo 11 mission as it happened. Just don't expect anything beyond the film itself to be included in your purchase.

remember it well
was interesting to relive that day in 1969 when they walked on the moon

Apollo 11 is unique in how it tells the story of the first human mission to the moon. Visuals and environmental are woven into one of the most visually satisfying documentaries ever made. From a technical standpoint, the restoration and digitization of the archival film is some of the best work in this category. This Blu-Ray release matches the 4k streaming version for quality as well.

I’m not even sure what to classify this as…a movie or documentary, maybe a bit of both. Quite possibly the best docu-movie I have ever seen, on any subject. Looks like it was shot yesterday with amazing recently discovered high quality footage. Hard to believe it was 50 years ago but you are suddenly back in 1969, just along for the ride. In the days before cell phones and the Internet. The Saturn V launch scene alone will leave you on the edge of your seat. The lunar lander (Eagle) descent to the lunar surface will have your heart beating as fast as Armstrong’s was when he was landing on another world. This movie makes is patently clear just what a huge undertaking the Apollo program was, involving literally hundreds of thousands of people.
