Lyle G Elliott –
Works well if you turn it on while attached to computer to add files.
Worked well for me. While I agree there are no directions with it, I found that simply plugging it in to my computer via the included USB, turning the switch to ‘ON’, and dragging the dropping the files it worked very easily. Sound quality was good, though the allowed space was closer to 2MB than 4, it stored around 2 minutes of sounds for my halloween model kit build with music and effects.

Neat
I have four of these units adding a third dimension to my model railroad. One is manually controlled, one operates on a timing relay and two are triggered by train movements. Connecting control devices is easy.

Big delay in playing sounds
The module is nice and loud with controls for volume. But there is a 1-3 second delay for the sound to play which for a cosplay or craft project is not ideal.

So simple to use
I love these things. I remove the speaker and wire in a 1/4″ jack so the sound goes to an amp. An inexpensive way to add sound effects to a haunted house.
NorCal –
No instructions how to operate
No instructions included. Been unsuccessfully trying different approaches to record without luck.

4 MB internal space advertised and 2 MB internal space is shown on PC.
4 MB internal space advertised and 2 MB internal space is shown on PC. Perhaps this is standard Windows allocation, but that’s not explained anywhere.
