Amazing balance of power and style!
This phone looks and feels great. I have the scarlet and it really stands out. The OLED screen is top notch and plenty bright. The Snapdragon 6 gen 1 is solid and smooth. I love that the Motorola UI is so close to stock Android. It works great with my new Pixel watch 3. The batter lasts a day and a half for me and the camera is better than expected. The stylus is fun and convenient for note taking. A++. Motorola keeps on impressing me over the last few years.

If you’re like me, and only upgrade your phone when the last one is physically malfunctioning, you’re probably well familiar with the feeling that every time you return to the phone market you find that it’s become vastly worse in your absence. For every feature most of the big players add to their increasingly large pseudo-tablets, something you liked goes away forever, for seemingly no reason at all. Headphone jacks? Sorry, not cool enough! Expandable storage? You mean “Google Drive”? It is an absolute clown fiesta out here, and frankly I’m sick of it. Luckily, apparently Motorola is, too.To start with the obvious, this phone has both a headphone jack and a slot for a microSD card, so on top of the 256 gb of internal storage you can put pretty much however much you could ever need in it for your pictures, music, and everything else — because being forced to pay extra money for dodgy cloud storage so that you can access it less reliably is a scam, and everyone knows it. But Motorola didn’t stop there, and so this blast from the past comes with a stylus, too. It isn’t a “smart” stylus like the Samsung S24 Ultra, but who cares? It’s a phone, not a Wacom tablet, even if the S24 is steadily approaching the size of one anyways. You can quickly jot down notes, use it to press those tiny little buttons in badly designed apps, or just play Professor Layton and the Curious Village HD the way god intended. It snaps in with a nice little click, so it doesn’t feel like it’s going to slip out like the old styluses used to, and while it never feels like a killer feature it’s just one more nice little thing to have, because this is a phone made by people who understand that if you’re paying a few hundred dollars for a device it should have more nice little things, and not less. But you know what it doesn’t have? A stupid, annoying little bixby button that you have to beat your phone in arena combat to change to something more useful. Your move, Samsung.And while I’m not normally picky about the appearance of my phone in favor of what it can do, I do have to say that the faux leather back was cooler than I expected it to be. It doesn’t feel or look anything like real leather, but it’s enough that it feels different from the usual boring metal or plastic slabs, and as far as design gimmicks go I did think it’s pretty neat. The screen itself is also about as nice as my untrained eye can tell, and while it’s not the strongest powerhouse you can buy (obviously, considering it costs anywhere from 1/2 to 1/3 what the current other flagship phones cost) it still capably runs modern 3D phone games at medium-range settings. If you’re looking for the best of the best then you should look elsewhere, but it’s hard for me to really find explicit faults with it.Except for one, unfortunately, which is that in the end I found that Verizon does not actually support this phone, because much like the phone manufacturers themselves most American service carriers operate on the principle of taking one step forward and two steps back every year. I have an S24 Ultra now, a misguided attempt to bury the loss of my SD card slot with opulent overspending and a fancier, if perhaps not better clicky stylus, but I’ll cherish the day and a half I spent living in blissful ignorance thinking that the reason my SIM card wasn’t working was just because of Verizon’s mediocre service. Maybe I should just switch to AT&T, instead. The world is cruel enough as it is — don’t let your smart phone take things from you, too.

Not impressed..battery life is worse that my old moto e5 plus!!
How can a new phone have battery life worse than an old phone!!(went from 68% to 58% just on a whatsapp video chat!!)why is that even a thing!why is that allowed!new tech should be better not worse!!weird lag when using the video or photo app….horrible bottom facing speaker that you can feel vibrating when you’re talking to someone..screen is really bad in sunlight too,think im done with Motorola after this one..not a happy customer.
