    Versatile & Easy to use
I’ve been using my Rocketbook since 1/1/2021 and I’m loving it. I was burdened by all the filled notebooks that I had and needed to keep, just in case I needed to refer back to my work notes. It’s hard to find something you know might be in there without knowing when it might be. Enter Rocketbook. I can OCR my notes (with some corrections) and if I need something Windows can find it. I tested this feature out after accumulating a couple of weeks notes (saving each day as a separate file) and then asked Windows to find a particular phrase. It worked beautifully and finding multiple instances of that phrase–one I didn’t even remember writing down.Ideally I would scan and OCR my notes daily, but in reality I do it about once a week. This means I have to set aside a little more time to correct the OCR translation of my not so great handwriting, but well worth it in the end.Though I bought a variety of Frixion pens, the ones I use every day are the ball clickers (.7mm). They write fairly well and scan easily–even the pink pen comes up well in the scans. I haven’t used the markers as much for everyday notes–too thick. It’s recommended that you use a spray bottle & a micro cloth for cleaning. I do that, but for everyday mistakes that’s a little hard. It is NOT recommended to use the erasers that come on the pens–they not only smear, but the can remove the coating from your Rocketbook pages. I’ve found that using a water pen & a Q-tip works great for correction in little areas. The pen I use is: Pentel Japan Aquash Waterbrush Water Brush Pen, Fine. It gets into small areas with precision; I then use both sides of a Q-tip–one for absorption of the water & ink, and the other to dry. This allows me to make quick corrections and continue on without “waiting for the page to dry.”When I do my mass cleanings (about every 2 weeks), I use a soft wet rag and a dry micro cloth. I wholesale wash down the pages and dry them. This process is a little slow as the drying does take time. I’ve tried it with the pages bound and unbound and have only seen a little improvement on the drying time of the unbound pages. One note I have is that right after I’ve cleaned the pages and they are dry there appears to be light impressions from the pen that are still there after cleaning, but after a couple of days those impressions disappear. My first (two) Rocketbooks were of the Fusion variety, as I didn’t really know what I wanted. I like some of the planner pages and the lined pages, but only used the dotted pages when I ran out of lined pages. I have created some two page calendar pages using the dotted pages, but for me they weren’t as useful. When I originally got the Fusion book it was the only one with lined pages; at that time the Core only came with dotted pages, but now they have a version that is all lines. I’ve added one of those to my inventory. If I had to go back and could do the purchases again, I’d probably still get the Fusion for the versatility, but my other book would be a Core lined. At the bottom of every page are 7 icons. You can program them to be locations to where you want your scanned pages to go and what actions you want taken. For instance, I have two set up for personal notes/scans–one for email & one to go to my G-drive–both with OCR. I also have two set up for work notes/scans, but in this case they are going to my work email and my work based OneDrive–again both with OCR. If you were in school and part of a study group, you could make one of the icons go to a group email or to a group accessible cloud storage. The versatility here is endless. All in all I’d recommend the Rocketbook. At $35 for 42 pages it might seem high, but think about some of the other alternatives and their expense. I tried several more expensive options, and none of the others worked like I do or made it as easy to see and retrieve my notes.

I didn’t type this review. I wrote it in my Rocketbook notebook.
Oh, how I have been missing paper and ink! The simple act of writing by hand – to clear my mind, process feelings, mark a task as complete, or plan for the future – had been lost in my quest to digitize my entire life. Why write something down, I thought, when I’ll just have to type it again later? Enter the Rocketbook, the happy marriage of Analog and Digital. It combines the serene act of writing with effortless uploading of the digital text to the cloud service of my choice. Wipe the page clean with a damp cloth and repeat. I purchased the Executive size of the Rocketbook Fusion (it fits perfectly in my purse) in beautiful Terrestrial Green. With the Fusion’s combination of formats (planning pages, dot-grid pages, and lined pages) the possibilities are endless. Here’s what works for me.Planning pages: task list, 2 weekly calendars, 1 monthly calendar, OKR page (Objectives, Key Results, Action Plan, Reflections), ideas page.Dot-grid pages: perfect for my habit tracker, fitness tracker, and mood tracker. For fellow nerds, the Executive size notebook has 25 dot-grid boxes vertically and 16 boxes horizontally. Since it doesn’t have 31 boxes to accommodate a one-month tracker on one page, I’ve made a two-page spread for each tracker and it works well for me.Lined pages: Ideal for writing Goodreads book reviews and Amazon reviews (OCR scan with the app, then copy and paste) as well as for my journal, brain dumps, and random notes. In the Executive size, each page has 27 lines.Stuff I’ve learned: Pilot Frixion 0.5 mm pens are less likely to smear than the 0.7 mm pen that comes with the notebook. All Pilot Frixion pens are refillable, and purchasing refills is less expensive than buying new pens. Don’t use the eraser on the Pilot Frixion pen to erase something in the Rocketbook because it will damage the page; use a damp cloth instead. The Rocketbook app is brilliant and the OCR software does a good job of reading my messy handwriting.A suggested improvement: If scanning the monthly or weekly calendar page would automatically create events in Google Calendar, that would blast the Rocketbook Fusion into the next galaxy!Verdict: I adore my Rocketbook Fusion. I find myself happily jotting down notes throughout the day with no digital distractions. I’m not nearly as attached to my phone now, which is a great feeling, and my eyes enjoy the break from the LED screen. And I can search my Rocketbook app scans by key words, so I’ll never have to reread pages of handwritten notes to refer back to details.Try before you buy: Yes, it’s an expensive notebook. To try out the Rocketbook app before investing in a notebook, go to the official Rocketbook website (getrocketbook.com), scroll down to the bottom of the webpage, and click on “Free PDF Pages”. You can download the pages that you want to experiment with, print them, write on them with any pen, scan them with the Rocketbook app, and see what happens. Then visualize the system as an endlessly erasable and reusable notebook. I’m a huge fan! You might be, too.

Es como tener un pizarrón infinito. Puedes tomar notas desechables y borrarlas sin problema cuando no las necesites más. A mi me encantó👌🏼
