    Not Impressed.!
I expected, and wanted, a book about DOING ACCOUNTING FOR A NEW BUSINESS.! What I got was a book about Cookies, Cakes, and Ingredients.! I don’t care how many eggs it takes to bake a cake, but I do need to know how to list the eggs on my expense sheet.! This book had nothing to do with actually accounting for a start up business, unless you can relate cookies to the cost of cakes.! It was a complete waste of time and money.! But if you’re thinking you should buy it, I’ll send you my copy for free. Just pay postage.!

    Packed full of necessary information!
I am a full-charge bookkeeper and have been for almost 20 years and I can tell you a lack of understanding about the importance of accounting to the financial wellbeing of a business and how this impacts the long-term viability of a great idea is the downfall of many small businesses. It is great to see so much helpful information packed into this helpful book!

    Not a Great Read.!
The writing style is very confusing with the nonsense reference to baking cookies, cakes, and pies. I expected it to refer to the actual business, and how the actual accounting is done, for that small business.. Not to compare the accounts receivable to cookies that have been sold, but not paid for ! Overall.. I Was NOT impressed.! No I would not recommend this one.!

A refreshing approach to small business finance – great analogy to help newbies (or non accounting types) to understand what’s involved in managing finances in a small business. Definitely helpful and much more enjoyable than I thought a book on accounting could be! Super helpful for my small business, too. Thanks Amy for the effort put in to doing it this way.
